Excellent experience

played 3/11 w/ 716am tee time. Got out early with another single. Course conditions were overall fantastic. Greens were immaculate. Fairways were excellent. Tee boxes were great. pace of play for two people a little over 3 hours. Great deal on golfnow for almost half off. Great wandering layout. No two holes alike. Elevation changes unlike most FL courses. priority on shot placement. cant spray it off the tee. overall great experience. Mosdef come back again. Worth the extra $. Didn't go to the driving range or restaurant inside but they had a beverage cart riding around.

worth the discounted green fees on GolfNow

2:00pm tee time. First time playing this course after the renovations. a few things put me off. waiting at the bag drop for 5 minutes. The starter telling me there was a group ahead of me at 1:50. that group coming out of the clubhouse at 1:56 and teeing off. Then the starter rushed me onto the tee after they just teed off. No one is more important than anyone else. He didnt understand that. Course renovations were nice. greens were fast but spotty and bumpy. They didn't take well to the aeration 2-3 weeks ago. For the prices they charge you should be able to putt on good aerated greens 2-3 days after. par 3 tee boxes need care. other were good enough but a little rough. Being so critical because they charge an arm and a leg here. If you don't get a GolfNow deal, it's not worth the $90 they charge. Its more for the atmosphere than the course conditions. I'd still recommend the course to people who havent played it. its very challenging. Beginners beware.

Getting better all the time

ive reviewed this course before and the review remains the same. The course is getting better. Theyre changing a lot and putting a lot of work into the course. Tree lined course with some challenging crowned greens. Accuracy is key here. I recommend to anyone looking for a challenge.

can't beat the price

14 hours before i played i booked a tee time on golfnow for $16.67 (18,cart,+fee). probably my 4th or 5th time playing this course. I teed off 15 minutes early at 650 and there were few players on the course. The conditions were better than i remembered them being. Fairways were good and greens rolled quick and were in great shape. i was only in one bunker and the sand was nice and loose. Course is somewhat wide open but you have to work your way around some long fescue. The only thing i can say needs improvement is the rough around the greens in some spots. It was inconsistent and spotty with patches of dirt and grass mixed in making for some tough up and downs. i only noticed this on a few holes though. Id recommend playing this course. its a classic Donald Ross, 2nd oldest in the country.

about time they're on golfnow.com

love this course. always play it. its not for some people. you either love it or hate it. played in just over 4 hours, but play can be slow on the weekends due to difficulty; they don't overbook tee times. great value and course is always in top shape. premium placed on accuracy. greens are fast. walk 9, but ride 18. The only thing i haven't been happy with up to now is that singles couldn't book tee times. With Golfnow, singles can finally book them. Now they just need a liquor license.

one of the nicer courses i've played through a housing development

Played on a windy day which helped and hurt at times. Cruised around in 2.5 hours with no one in front of me until the 15th hole (which made the last 3 holes last forever). Course was challenging enough due to tight driving areas and large waster bunkers that surrounded them. Some long holes even from the "II" tees. Elevation changes which is different from most FL courses, which is nice. Rough was typical Florida rough. I don't live down here so I'm not used to it. That saying. it's spongy and you get horrible lies. I'd recommend this course for a challenge. It was for me (although it was windy). i couldn't give it pristine conditions because i feel you can just look at a course and call it pristine. It was in good/great shape. greens were a little inconsistent at times but mostly good speed with a lot of undulation. fairways were good as well. it was well marked too. i'd say, give it a go.
