About
Hacker, optimistic outlook.
If your in doubt, Go for it as it's more fun when your trying to achieve the more difficult shots. This can also lead to some poor scores, but life is for living & you will certainly feel alive if you pull off one of those near impossible shots
( Unless your a Pro & it's your day job )
Could probably get a better handicap if it weren't for this but I prefer to enjoy a round of golf than to only focus on the score.

St. Anne's Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2017Good enjoyable course
Good links course without all the dunes of many others. The course is laid out with all holes visible, however the wind can make shot selection tricky.
Enjoyed the game here.

The food & service afterwards in the clubhouse was excellent.
The showers are the best I've experienced anywhere yet.

Nice course with enough variety of holes to keep you interested. Greens were sanded on day, so can't help you there. Basic but good quality facilities. Some slow play on course. Overall great place for a round at Great value.

Great course, great location, great price.
if you want a genuine links course, then this is a pure gem. Situated beside its more famous neighbours for a fraction of the price.

The Montgomerie Course at Carton House Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2013A lot of Hype
Was disappointed with this course. The course is well maintained, however the greens weren't the best. It is a difficult course in that the rough presents a challenge ( in finding your ball mainly, as its not too hard to play out of) with a lot of bunkers on your drives. The layout is very straightforward with little variation, and no hole worthy of 'Signature Hole Status', as a result the course feels a bit bland.
Overall a little disappointed as was expecting more from a course that was awarded an Irish Open recently
Wicklow Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2013Superb Location
A great course in great condition. Enough variety to make you think about your shots. Coastal/ cliff top location offers some spectacular views along with a good challenge. I Would encourage anyone to go and play there, "You won't regret it!".
Rathsallagh Golf Club
Played On 05/20/2013Great Course
A nice course, needs a little attention but that might be down to recent weather conditions.
Playable for all levels, but the real rewards are for the players who are willing( and able) to shape shots and take on the greens.
Baltinglass Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2012Underrated gem
A great course with a wide range of challenges. Tough greens, hard to read and fast for time of year/weather conditions. Beautiful quiet hillside location in a mature setting. Top half of course means a reasonable fitness level required.
Overall, I really liked this course, its for the golfer and not the driving range expert.
Grange Golf Club - Championship Course

Course in great condition! and greens reasonably fast considering an early morning tee time.
Beware the rough, as makes for tricky recue shots when wet.
It took a little over 3 1/2 hours.
Very enjoyable round of golf and will return.

A great looking course maintained superbly.
Fairly low level of difficulty with pretty straightforward holes., however there are a couple of nice holes with water for the par3's.
An enjoyable course for a relaxing round.
