I play here 3-4 times a month and always enjoy it. By far my favorite public course in the area. Layout is scenic and challenging.
The staff here is amazing. They’re friendly and make every feel at home. The week prior I accidentally left my sand wedge on the course. When I arrived this week the staff and I looked through the lost and found clubs but did not find it immediately. The young lady in the clubhouse did not quit once I started my round though. She found it and drove it out to me on the course, made my day.

Course layout is my favorite in South Georgia for a public course. Staff is always amazing and course is always in great shape.

I’ve lived here for almost two years now and have played this course every other week at least since moving here. The staff here is amazing. Rick always treats everyone like an old friend and Braden has remembered my name and had me ready to go before I’ve gotten there for every round. Always in great shape with a layout that no public course can match in the area. I play once a week and have played every course within an hour of the golden isles and there’s a reason I play this course 2-3 time a month.

Love this course and layout. My favorite public course in the area. One bit of feedback would be to leave the clubhouse and bar open a little later than 3pm. If you have a later tee time by the time you get to the turn they’re always closed. Pack a lunch if you play at 1 or later.

Staff was great and gave me some good info/tips about the course. Condition was decent but the greens were a little inconsistent. Love the layout thru some of the marina. I gave the off course amenities a 1 Star because it was closed all together and couldn’t get even a beer or hot dog the day I was there. Definitely worth it for the price though and one of my favorite courses in the Jax area.

Love the changes they made to this course and the conditions were great. Greens were perfect. It’s a little pricey but you’re paying for the convenience on the island.

This is one of if not my favorite course in the Amelia Island area. Have played there 3 times now since moving to the South Georgia area a few months ago and it is always challenging.
The layout is perfect with strategically placed water and the occasional elevation change.
Staff is super friendly and there’s always someone right there to help you with your clubs. Sometimes hard to find a starter but could be because I usually play around noon or later.
My only small issue (not sure if it falls on Golfnow or the club) is that I was not told prior to my round that the holes were recently punched. Nothing wrong with servicing the course obviously but I would like to be warned by either GolfNow or the club when I book if the greens were recently punched.
Overall I love the course and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good course at a fair price in the North Florida/South Georgia area.

Took the drive down from St Simons Island to play here for the first time. Great practice area with complementary range balls. Beautiful clubhouse. I loved the layout but my only issue was with the condition of the greens which is important to me. Not sure I would rush to drive the 50 minutes again until they get the greens straightened out. Overall I enjoyed the course though and for the hot deal price I got it at, it’s hard to beat.

I’ve played this course 4 times now since the beginning of the summer and it’s not what it was the first time. I thought that Laurel Island was one of the best values in the area but was a little disappointed this time. I love the layout of the course and it’s usually in fairly decent shape so for $30-$40, depending when you play, it’s usually a great deal. Today that wasn’t the case.
I noticed as soon as I got to the practice green that conditions were off because it was covered in crab grass. Tee boxes were in ok shape and so were the fairways but most of the bunkers were unraked and unplayable. Greens a little iffy as well.
The fairways were being mowed and the workers didn’t even acknowledge that I was playing thru. Atleast a third of the holes I ran into landscapers that did not power down at all and mowed right by me as I was hitting.
Pace of play was fine until I caught a couple by the end of the front nine who did not even offer me a chance to join them or play thru the rest of the way.
The courses layout is still great (especially the front nine) but conditions need to improve for me to continue to take the 45 minute ride down to Laurel Island Links.

Purchased a Hot Deal for $18 and decided to take the hour+ drive from Brunswick to play the Amelia River Golf Club. Was greeted by a very friendly and informative staff. Range balls were complementary which is always a plus but the range tee area was a little rough.
Pace of play could’ve been better. The starter sent out a foursome, followed by a twosome and then two singles (I was the first of the two singles). Within a few holes I was getting stuck behind the twosome and had the other single right behind me. This all could’ve been avoided by the starter just combining all 4 and sending them off together or at least sending two pairs. As it was I paired up with the twosome in front of me around the 7th hole but by the turn we were jammed up by the foursome in front of us.
The layout and course conditions were great though. Some of the holes are lined with the local airport so you get to see many small planes taking off and landing. I loved the airport views and don’t mind distractions but If you mind the noise of small propeller airplanes, you may not love this. Fairways were decent the greens were consistent. Water hazards were strategically and appropriately placed. Bunkers were groomed. The 17th somewhat island green par 3 is a poor mans Sawgrass 17 but let’s face it, I am a poor man and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The finishing hole was a tricky par 5 but could be SO MUCH MORE. Less than 50 yards behind the 18th green is the Amelia River but you can’t see it because it’s blocked by trees. If they trimmed out the trees behind 18 it would be a beautiful finishing hole and backdrop.
Overall I enjoyed the course and would play it again. If you get a Hot Deal time at a decent price it’s definitely it’s worth it, personally I wouldn’t pay the full price though.

Course in great condition and the staff was awesome. Worth the hour drive I took from Brunswick.

I booked with a hot deal on Golf Now so you can’t beat it for the price. The greens are patchy and some of the tee boxes are iffy. That being said, with golf now it’s a pretty good value for what you get. Free range balls are always a plus and the clubhouse/bar is beautiful. Layout of the course is nice as well. If the course conditions improved a little more it would be one of the best courses in the South Georgia/North Florida area. As it stands, it’s a great value if you book at the right price.
