Cherry Oaks Golf Club
Played On 02/23/2024Best value in the area
Cherry oaks is worth the drive from wichita. Start your round off with one of the hardest par 4s you'll see in the county and then enjoy going low. The greens are always quick and you won't find many flat putts despite the greens being massive. Long hitters can take on a couple par 4s. The price is CHEAP and you get a lot for your money. Definitely the best value in the area!

This course is in small town America but you wouldn't know it by the course conditions. Even in the blazing summer heat it still stays playable. The greens roll true and youd think you were at a country club. It's well worth the 25 minute drive from wichita to go play cherry oaks. Number 1 is probably the most difficult par 4 in the area. Make sure to play from the fairway because the rough is thick. The back 9 plays much different than the front because it was added much later than the front. You really can't beat the price of this course with the hot deal!

This course is very short. I've played it several times but have never seen it in as bad of shape as it was in today. The course obviously has had issues with draining water recently. Several greens have unplayable spots on the edges where the green appears to have burned up then drowned during heavy rains causing it to turn into a mud pit. My ball literally plugged in mud on the first green today. Some of the holes require thought but most are very straight forward.

While this course won't blow you away with innovative design, it's always in relatively good shape. The back 9 is much different than the front 9 and feels like the design was someone's first project. The front is challenging, opening with a 480 yard par 4 which typically plays into the wind. This hole is generally regarded as one of the most difficult holes in the area. The back 9 is incredibly flat, wide open and offers little challenge other than sheer length.
