About

Good thing short game matters cause that's how I score. I can hit shorter par 5s in two, or hit Driver 3 wood on a par 4.
I've been golfing all my life, so I've learned to get it in the hole.

False front

When checking in at the desk I see a sign saying 90 degree rule. It's not that wet, but no problem. I get to the starter and he says cart path only. When I ask for a refund all I can get is a rain check. I'm 60 years old with a service related foot disability and can't walk the course. I'm also a single digit handicap that drove 4 hours and stayed overnight to play the course. Thanks for nothing TPC. I won't bother you again.

In defense of the greens

Some of the more difficult greens you will play. The course is not long. The fairways are wide there are a few hazards. But the greens require some planning. Like don't get short sided. the pins were, frankly a little unfair, given the slope of some greens. A couple were only about 4 feet from the fringe. Still, it was fun to navigate them, and I would play it again.

No need to tuck the pins here.

All the fluff for those that like service. I pay for the course and this was a gem. Many shots you just have to step up and execute. No place to bail. Greens were good speed and VERY true. Most of the time you are just trying to avoid the many traps. If you do, a birdie can be had.

No Bear, just a trap.

I guess 50 bucks twilight is a good rate in this area. Where I'm from you wouldn't get 30 for this course. To be fair, the greens and fairways aren't bad. But the course is just kind of, I don't know, ugly. There are better options in the area. We did see plenty of wildlife. Coyotes, road runners and such. Slow play didn't help.

Nice surprise

So I got to the hotel from the airport and I had time for a quick 9. This course was like 15 minutes away. I booked 9 hole with cart for $15. Wasn't expecting much, but I was quite satisfied. Shorter course and mostly a lay up off the tee. Green were, played on, a lot. But I enjoyed the risk/reward type play. Of course it was Valentines day so..................
