Good Value This Time of Year

Course was in decent shape after heavy rains and with dormant grass, wet and muddy in areas, Greens were very good to excellent, rolled very true with moderate speed. Would love to play when dry and everything has greened up.

Great course deceptively challengin

I was a single playing course for the first time. I played the Marsh and Lake 9s for my round. The course was in good shape and the homes lining the fairways give the illusion of a Much tighter fairway; however, I hit driver on the par 4s and 5s. The greens we a little slower than I expected (from reading other reviews) so I left all my putts short the first 4 or 5 holes. But, greens rolled true.

Being a first timer and playing as a single from out of town, there's always a little apprehension. Not to worry, the staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly. With GolfNow deals, you will be hard pressed to find a better course for the money.

Good challenging course for the money

I found MQ to be a challenging yet open and forgiving course that allows you to use every club in your bag; particularly if you are a mid to high handicapper (i'm about a 14) and you are working on all facets of your game. It is not a pretentious course and all golfers are made to feel welcomed. The natural environment is a plus as well. Although not bad, I've seen the course conditions improve in the year I've been playing the course.

Great value great atmosphere without pretentiousness of comparable courses

Course offers challenging sets of nine holes (although I've only played Lake and Cottage the four times I've played the course). Staff very cordial at check in and I appreciate the ability to wear denim in the cold ( I haven't but have seen others so I assume its ok). I would consider membership if price ok.

Great 9-hole course for the money

This is a nice 9 hole course. More than drive and pitch for average golfers off tee. Also has par 3 course for short game. Staff always friendly

Umm…. I believe your review is in reference to the Lakes Course at Windy Hill Sports Complex, not Glenwood Golf Club.

Single golfers will notice a decidedly unfavorable policies towards them. Most singles expect to be paired; however, try to register a tee time now.

Single golfers will notice that new management policies will deter those who would like to play the course. I must add the course is in the best shape ever. I personally experienced this myself. I expect to, and should be paired when the course is busy (and even when it's not). But, I e come to realize that it's new mg t's desire to discourage single Greta. Try to register a tee time as a single golfer. Remember, this is a municipal course, not private so there should be some accommodations for tax paying reside t's who like golf but doesn't have a foursome to play.

The greens were very well maintained. Some of the most challenging par 4s that I have encountered.

Very good value for the money (would rate as best I've come across if some discount was offered- didn't have it shown if it was at $36) in comparison to some courses I've played in Richmond at that price it higher. The course conditions were very good and the greens impressive to me (I've really just started playing seriously so my sample size is about 10 different courses for comparison). For example, Belmont is about the same price but this course is more challenging and in considerable better conditions. I love 5 miles from Belmont but would make the trip there any time I have the opportunity. I wish they offered more discounts; however, the price is more than fair. They have a customer in me.
