Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2024Winter golf
Cart paths torn to pieces, winter grass, clubhouse in renovation, still a great day.
The gentleman checking people in was nice and helped me navigate the course.
The course just makes me want to come back in the spring and probably a few times in the winter.
Pricing was good, holes were easy in the first half relatively straight forward, then there was back 9.
Have fun, give it a try when they finish the club house.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Great Blue Course
Played On 03/06/2021Portland oh Portland
Solid course. Everything I read prior to playing said the only thing to watch for was the Pace of Play.
I looked up courses to play and found this one at 9:30, was on the course at 10:25. Got done at 3:00. Ooof. I got partnered with 3 gentlemen. 2 knew each other, the other was a random like myself. Everyone was super chill, but golf is a hard sport and there are levels to how frustrating it can be for each individual player.
Front 9 took us 2:45.
I enjoyed all of the angularity. Course was wet but in good condition. We were consistently behind most of the day.
Back 9 we breezed through.
Dropped two of 4 players.
Took us an Hour and half. Yep.
The back was tough in its own weird Heron ways. So many drop offs into ponds and blackberry bushes. Tons of fun to get depressed about. Made it out pretty good.
Long story short. If you are worried about Pace of Play, pay higher rates or go earlier. The Marshal was doing his best. But golf is golf.
J. F. Kennedy Golf Center - West/Creek Course
Played On 08/01/2018Great course for the average golfer
Been playing here for 3 years.
Kennedy is a great place.
Course itself is open year-round. A calm winter will allow you to play into Jan. Feb. Apr.
The major gratification I get out of this Course, is the staff. The people that work here are human beings: from tee times to maintaining pace of play to good ol' small talk just generally friendly.
West: Good quick 9 holes, with limited challenges besides trees on both sides on each hole.
Babe: Little more interesting. With water, bunkers, river beds (sometimes with water in them), long fairways, its a good 9 when weather and everything cooperates.
Creek: Most underrated 9 in CO. Seriously. That's all I say.
Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch
Played On 03/13/2018Deer Creek in the Winter
Living a little closer to DTC this gem surprised me when I first played at Deer Creek in June. Its a beautiful course in the Summer time, and with Winter well, its Winter, what do you expect.
Staff are always kind.
Challenging in someways, others not. Back Nine'll kick your rear, if you let it.
