Cadillac Country Club
Played On 07/02/2018A Beautiful Old Course
Featuring lots of old-growth trees, the front nine is a classic example of a century-old golf course. Challenges abound on the two par threes; #2 plays about 180, with a massive green well guarded by trees, and #7 plays nearly 230 yards with a generous green surrounded by mounding and an elevated bunker. The remainder of the front nine features tree-lined holes, deceptively challenging.
The back nine finds the trees thinning out a bit (never going away, just thinning a bit), but still challenging, including a tenth hole with a massive tree in the center of the fairway, forcing a targeted drive from the tee. The back features the course's two par fives, including a difficult 18th hole that will challenge even the best to score par. A beautiful par three 16th features a carry over a pond to a large, heavily sloped green guarded by bunkers. Do yourself a favor on the par 4 17th and check out the green before taking your second shot; the green drops several feet below the remainder of the fairway, which will change how you play it.
The course is well-maintained and in great shape. It's fairly flat, and makes for a lovely walk. Full bar service is available, as are sandwiches and burgers/brats/etc. from the grill.
A beautiful course well worth your time.
