Desert Mirage Golf Course
Played On 02/28/2024Fun for beginners short hitters
The ball really rolls and the course is forgiving. My wife can’t grip the clubs due to arthritis, but had a lot of fun. We played with a beginner who played best ball when she miss hit. We moved relatively decently, but a little slow, but no one said anything and everyone had a great time. If you are a stud and scratch golfer this isn’t the course for you.
Had a burger afterwards and it was very good.
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 09/26/2023Embarrassingly poor
Horrible maintenance. Bare spots mixed with overgrown spots on the fairways. The greens had bare spots and damage caused by poor mowing. There was no sand in the sandtraps. This was the worst course maintenance that I have ever expirienced,
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 09/26/2023Embarrassingly poor
The fairways were a mixture of bare spots and un mowed areas. The traps had no sand. The greens had bare spots and gashes caused by bad mowing. Only paid $30, but that was too much for this course. Simply the worst I have ever played.
Palm Valley Golf Club - North/South
Played On 03/15/2023Good value
Wide fairways. Traps are in very good condition. Green decent.
Thank you for playing with us! We hope to see you again soon.

Los Caballeros Golf Club
Played On 03/21/2019Challenging greens, very scenic
Plenty of challenges.
Most greens are elevated with sloped aprons. The greens are large, firm and hav many undulations.
It is a long course, 7020 from the tips, 6530 from silver and 5885 from gold. The par 5s on the silver are: 500, 540, 560 (in to the wind) and 550. The course is not flat, but long holes are not down hill like Kapalua. So for a senior I should have eaten my pride and played from the gold. (The card lists yellow tees for women. There are no such tees, just a marker in the middle of the fairway. )
Very beautiful scenery. Certainly one of the best in Arizona.
Hello. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Estates Course
Played On 03/19/2019Better than average resort course
Surrounded by luxurious homes, the Adobe course is in good condition, but it is flat and unremarkable. The links course is much more senic.
Lookout Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/26/2018Slow fairways - fast greens
Except for a couple of holes the course layout is fair for a player playing for the first time. Green speed made scoring tough. Rather scenic. Good value.
Chasmo46,
Thank you for taking the time to review Lookout Mountain Golf Course! We are happy you enjoyed the golf course layout, along with the scenic views it offers. The greens are definitely at their peak right now and are a true test. We look forward to your future visits!
Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West
Played On 04/02/2017Good value
Not a 5 star course, but at $57 on a Sunday it is a good value. In comparison to other courses in the area it is a nice play. Greens are good. Good amount of water, but course is very playable.
San Tan Highlands
Played On 03/27/2017Long drive for average course
The staff were great, but I was over charged. One nine is interesting, but the second has tract homes on both sides.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 03/23/2017Best course I've played in Phoenix
High end facility, but staff was very welcoming. The course was in great shape. The prices for drinks on the course were fair. Very scenic. Would definitely play it again at the discounted rate.
San Vicente Golf Resort
Played On 04/17/2015Working hard to make a good course better
While this course is somewhat out of the way it is a very good value. The fairways and greens are in good condition which is the exception based on how the drought has affected other courses in the area. They recently converted a weed infested marsh into a pond and are currently doing major work to convert large areas that rarely come into play from sod to low water plants and mulch. The end result should be a great visual and water saving improvement and management should be commended.
Reidy Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/13/2014great course if managed well
The back nine was closed for airification, but we were not told that when we booked it. The holes had not been moved in so long that the grass was growing into the cup. The greens and fairways needed mowing. The sand traps have no sand, have grass throughout and the edges need to be trimmed. While we played the course in under four hours, the pace of play for this executive course was really not great due to half of the course being closed.
Great course that just needs love.
Galena Ridge at Silver Mountain Resort
Played On 09/15/2014MOUNTAIN HIGH
This is an extremely new mountain course with limited facilities. The fairways and greens are great other than the fairways were too wet. However ,there is no clubhouse, practice green and you are hitting off a mat into the wilderness for a driving range. Mules would be comfortable on some of the switchback gravel cart paths and the elevation changes are dramatic. The views are great and it was fun, but not somewhere that I would play more than once. It is not worth the drive at the prices I paid. However, bring a camera if you go. Not a course for beginners.
Maderas Golf Club
Played On 04/04/2014less than expected, over priced but fun
The staff were great, but this is an over hyped, over priced course. It is supposed to be one of the top courses in the State and so I was expecting lush fairways and wonderful greens. To be fair, they had punched the greens earlier in the week and the sand traps were tops, but the fairways were hardly green. The fairways are sloped and there are challenging hazards. Without much grass in the fairways it is easy to find those hazards. The driving range was irons only because of work being done to it.
A coke was $4.50 and a hot dog was $8. I guess they don"t want people with my budget to play there, but at $130 I don't think that I got my value and won't be back.

Salt Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2014Semi links style
The fairwasy have lots of roll which allows very long drives and fairway shots. However the fairways have many slopes and care is needed to prevent rollout OB. Long drives down the middle can roll dangerously close to OB. the greens are good and reasonably fast probably around a 10. The bunkers are fair. They have cut down some of the brush off of the faiways and reduced some of the hazards. Good scores are available to average golfers as long as the ball is kept in play.
Castle Creek Country Club
Played On 02/03/2014For $20 a good value
Well, it is winter, but this is an average track and one should not over pay. It is not senic or remarkable.. There are no special features or attractions. The fairways are dormant. Lots of roll but not a great striking surface. The greens are average and the bunkers poor (good thing there are not a lot of fairway bunkers). I paid $20 on a weekday and so it was a good deal, but I wouldn"t want to pay more than $35 durring the week.
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 01/08/2014lots of work being done - no ranger - poor pace
Work was being done on some tees and sand traps which brought the rating down from average to fair at the time we played. One older couple held up the entire course and there was no ranger making the pace of play very poor. For the money this is generally a fair value (lower price average conditions in a remote location).
The Links at Summerly
Played On 10/21/2013Desert course still feeling affects of summer.
First this is a desert course. I am not saying that desert courses are bad, but be ready for severe clear sunny days, higher temperatures and on occasion winds.
This is a links course where the ball rolls and rolls and rolls until it gets to a bern. the berns are stone lined ditches that snake across many of the fairways. If you find a bern there is no way out other than to take a drop. So course management is at a premium. While there are no trees or "rough" there is plenty of trouble if you stray from the fairways.
Although the greens were punched two weeks ago they were running fairly fast and one needs to be careful about long low shots that often run off the greens into trouble.
The fairways still show the affects of the summer heat and have many bare spots, but this was the least of the concerns.
The price can be right, but it takes more than one round to solve the challenges of this course.
The Leelanau Club At Bahles Farms
Played On 7/8/2013Best course I've played in a long time!
Got a smoking hot deal. Beautiful setting. Open fairways, but plenty of woods. Lots of changes in elevation. Wouldn't recommend walking. Everything was in great shape. Diffinitely worth the drive and your wife will like Sutton's Bay afterwords.
Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Estates Course
Played On 4/9/2013Open fairway-nice greens - should be able to score here.
Very good conditions. Definitely country club conditions. No special features. A nice place to play for the average golfer if you can get the best price (we paid $39).
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Desert Mirage Golf Course, and we hope to see you again in the future.
