Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 01/17/2021Some interesting holes but it has its problems.
Stone Creek is an interesting course with some very challenging holes, but the parts of the fairway that have been overseeded are very narrow and the rough is basically dried hard ground with some dried grass on it. If you can stay in the fairway, you'll have an enjoyable time...that is until you get to the back nine and encounter bicyclists and skateboarders who seem to think that the cart paths are city walking and riding trails. The course acknowledges this is a big problem. Even though signs are posted to stay off the course, people were racing by on bikes as we were teeing off - and crossing in front of us in the middle of the fairway. Many condos border the back nine and people were out on the course with their dogs taking them over to the water to have a nice stroll. This is a dangerous situation and our group will not return. The back nine literally feels like a public park and it's a little tough to "play through".
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 08/26/2018Nice Course - good greens
This is a very nice course with wonderful greens, but the main problem with this "vineyard course" is that you never get away from the highway noise and for most of the front nine you are playing within full view of the road. It is not much of a "get away" compared to Chardonnay just around the corner. Comparison between those two courses seems to be a big topic, so I will add my opinion. Eagle Vines is a very nice course with lots of challenges but it's not very memorable. You do have some vineyards that can come into play but you don't feel surrounded by them. Chardonnay has a completely different feel - you feel like you are in a different world at that course - I felt like I was in France. Never saw the main street. It was lovely/ BUT... the greens were a bit slower. The balls still rolled very true, but just not fast. You decide. I'm glad I played both.
Oak Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/07/2018Some of the prettiest holes I've ever seen
This was a fun course. It was early in the season and there has been a ton of rain that has gotten in the way of the course being the way it should be, but it was still a lot of fun to play. We just played preferred lies and had a blast. You do have to follow the road map on a couple holes to get to where you're going, and there are a lot of blind holes, but I enjoy playing a course on rolling hills and the water running throughout the middle of the course was beautiful. Some holes are a little short and funky, but the beauty makes up for it. Would love to play there again in mid June to see how it shapes up.
