If you think you are a great putter, then these greens will test your skill. They are extremely hard so its difficult to hold a shot. (just use one less club and let it roll up). There weren't any straight putts! If you were above the hole, watch out! These greens truly tested my skills as a putter.

The course was in excellent shape and it was packed with golfers every 15-20 mins. The staff was very courteous and friendly.

Make sure you hit em straight because there are several narrow fairways.

After securing a hot deal, I drove 80 mins to this well kept secret. This is an awesome course. When I arrived, the staff made sure that I knew where to go. They took care of all my needs. The course was in great shape. Even though they aerated the greens, the putts still rolled true.
A lot of thought went into the back nine holes, I actually preferred the back nine to the front.
I will definitely will play this course next year on my vacation. I hope you do too!

After reading the reviews I thought I'd try this course. Glad I did. The lady behind the desk was very accommodating. I was a single playing behind 2 threesomes and then there were 2 foursomes playing scramble or best ball. I couldn't go anywhere but I understood that.
The course needs a little more work but you can't beat the price nor the friendliness. I will definitely play this again

The course is in great shape. The staff is very friendly, from the cart bag man to the lady behind the counter. They want to make sure you enjoy your day.

You have your resort golf and your desert golf.... you have both here. The course was absolutely beautiful and the staff was very friendly... I was a single golfer and they paired me up with someone on Number 2... The greens were great and not extremely fast. Several greens are guarded by traps so approach shots need to be high and soft.
Just stay off the desert dirt and your score will be much lower. Lay up on the par 5's and use your chip shot so you can putt for birdie. Have fun, because I did.

I know that some of the greens have been treated with sand, but they still roll true. This is an awesome course. Some fairways have large landing zones, and others are a bit tight. A lot of detail has gone into this course... The staff is extremely friendly as well as the bag man/Cart man. I will definitely try and play it again when in the area.

St. Albans is an excellent course out in the country side...... The lay out tends to favor the right to left hitter, but there is a tough dogleg to the left. Elevated greens add to the challenge. We noticed that the greens were very undulated causes several breaks in your putt. The greens were fast so most putts went by the hole. One can score well if they stay in the middle of the fairways... Trees line each fairway, need I say anymore. Most par 5's are reachable in two... Enjoy your round, we did.

The Emerald Golf Course is a hidden gem.... The course is in great shape and the greens are fast and true. Even though they put down sand on all the greens, the still bite on approach shots AND roll true. The fact that they are fast, makes it easier to putt. I believe this course favors a right handed golfers fade. On some holes I had to draw the ball, but only remember doing it twice off the tees.
I golfed in the afternoon on a hot deal and had the course to myself. I played the front nine in 70 mins and the back nine in 80 mins....
The homes along the course are brick ranches that are on one side of the fair way while the other side of the fairway are trees. The landing zones are fairly big. I will make sure I play this course again.
I drove up from Topsail Island because all the courses around here are wet and cart path only... You will enjoy this old world charm and the course challenges golfers of all skill.

The landing zones for your drives are huge! That makes your next shot important... The greens are very true and nice to putt on.....You will enjoy this course... we did.

This is a great course for anyone that plays golf... the course is in great shape.... the fairways could use more water but that helps your drives roll further. The greens are so soft that every ball checks up nicely. Have fun.... we did!

This course is a very nice and well manicured course. If you keep your ball in the fairway, then you will score shots. A great course to practice other shots.

Wow! What a course.... the greens are quick and fast and the fairways are cut perfectly... your ball even sits up in the rough. The starter was extremely friendly and gave you several pointers. Free range balls to loosen up before the round was awesome.
Upon arriving, the valet takes your clubs and vehicle. After nine holes, a cold towel and a crisp red delicious apple that has been in ice water is a treat. When leaving the course, your vehicle is delivered, with AC on and an ice cold water is given to you. Enjoy your golf experience...... I did.

This course is a must for vacationers and residents.... Booked a hot deal on Golf now and was warned about the overseeding. Every fairway is being reseeded as well as the greens. No carts allowed in the fairway but rough only..... It didn't matter, the greens were a bit slower but did not 3 putt any greens. This is still a very nice course! The ownership is putting a lot of money back into this course and it will be sweet in about a month... I would play it again. The starter was very friendly and paired me up with another single so I did not have to wait....

After playing the first 3 holes, I thought that this was not a very good course... the first 3 holes are very easy.... After that, you need to place your tee shots. Some holes are very long when hitting into the wind... Great course for the value. Staff was extremely nice and courteous. I had the back nine to myself. Several small gators were on the banks to remind you that you are golfing in Florida.

This course is in great shape. It is challenging but one can score well with good and accurate drives. Several holes require working the ball. Enjoy your round as I did.

This is an old course that is still is great shape... Many holes are wide open making it somewhat easy for the average golfer.
You can get in trouble on some holes but like I said earlier, most holes are wide open.

After reading the reviews on this course I was very hesitant to play it. I booked a hot deal for $21. Upon playing I was the only one (it seemed) to be on the course. Every one else was finished or on the back nine.
The greens were in fantastic shape. There were only 3 greens that were not in top shape, #9, #10, #11. That was easy to remember. The pin or cup location on these holes, made it easier, taking the bare spots out of line.
The old world charm of the trees, sand, and narrow fairways makes this course great. The friendly staff also helps... Definitely on my play it again list when I come to Topsail Island.
They are working on this course, 5 different mowers and 5 landscapers on my round. Everyone was friendly.
