Layout is good
It’s still March so course conditions a little rough
Greens are small and very undulated
Same architect as Lawsonia and some other very nice courses

If you live in the area (Kankakee) a nice place to play
If not don’t know if I would make the drive

To be fair I will give it another try in summer when the greens and course in better shape

Have played here several times over the years but won’t be going back anytime soon

This my 10 th round in here this year (5th different course)
And the condition of the greens was awful . Like putting on Velcro. Understand early in the year but they charged $65 !
Every other course I played which are better tests of golf all charged between $40-$55.

I would t pay $65 to play here in the summertime , much better options.

This is a $40-45 golf course at best

They are always friendly and pace of play was good
Layout is ok but greens were bad

If you are willing to $65 for golf you have 30 better options
Go up to Sheppard’s crook for about $50 for a senior

Very disappointing

Was in very good condition considering overseed a couple weeks ago, as good as we Ko Pa as far as condition goes

Whenever I am in the Phoenix area I try to play the founders course.

Played 400 courses , give it a try

Makray is serious test
Almost all the greens slope back to front and if you are above the hole good luck
Greens were receptive but very fast
Nice range
Course is difficult and you need to play the correct tees
Group in front of us were playing one up and figured out by the 5th hole they needed to move up

One thing they need to fix is the practice putting green
It is awful and has been that way since opening
On the right side you can drop a ball and it will roll 20 feet

If you want to test every part of your game Makray is the place

I have been coming here every time I visit the Phoenix area ( twice a year for 15 years) have played here at least 50 times over the years and the course is in great condition
Staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome

Only critique was the bunkers need a little tlc
This was the time I played here were pace of play was an issue
Tee time of 8:32 and played in 4:46 , too slow
I generally stay in Peoria or Scottsdale so it is quite the drive but we’ll worth it

The course was in great shape
First class range
Pro shop - very good - good selection

What stood out to me was the gentleman that greets everyone
Jason! He was fantastic
Energetic , professional on top of things
Knowledgable , friendly
I work at a golf course in outside ops for the past 8 years ( course has hosted us opens and Ryder cup)

I have the same job as Jason and Jason is as good as it gets
Makes a difference when the first person you see and talk to is as good as Jason

Come to the Phoenix area 2-3 times a year and play here at least once
This year I played here 3 times in 2 weeks
Overseed and cart paths only
Greens and fairways in excellent condition
Greens rolled true and with good pace
Fairways great
Bunkers need work
Tee boxes not always level
Pace of play - 4:10 for a foursome and about average for cart path only

Played about a week after they over seeded
2 some , played in 3 hours even with cart path only
Was 60 , windy and drizzled the last 5 holes so maybe the course was not crowded at all

Only negative - mats on the range

9:30 tee time. Played in 4:15 a little slow
