White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
Played On 01/15/2016Nice Track!
First time playing this track and I enjoyed it. I drove almost 2 hours to play this track but it was worth it. I had made a tee time that morning around 7a and on my way to the course I received a call from the clubhouse to inform me that there was a frost delay. Even though I was not too thrilled with the delay, I appreciated the courtesy to inform me before I arrived. My tee time was for 9:20a but did not get on until about 10:40a. I was paired with another single so it was nice to play with someone. This track is not for walking since there a couple holes that are quiet far from greens to next tee box. Having said that the course is really nice for it being on Delaware Start Park Racetrack. There was one hole that had so much goose droppings on the green that it was not even worth putting. They should have dogs out there to prevent that (just a suggestion). I will be coming back in the spring/summer time to play again.

I've heard a lot of positives about this course prior to me playing for the first time. I finally got the chance to play and I was not overly impressed. At least not to the point of the recommendations I received about this course. Having said that, it is a nice course (walkable). My biggest issue here is the pin placement flags. They are all yellow but no way to determine if it's front, middle of back. Even the 3 guys I was paired with who play there regularly, expressed the same thoughts. I was out 144y to middle and I played it as that since it looked like pin was in the middle, but my shot bounced over the flag on the green and then disappeared. As I approached the green the flag was way up front. That would be my one sticky point. Staff was friendly. I was a single walk-on and I was able to get on in about 20 mins.
I would recommend it but I have played nice looking courses.
I will play it again now that I have a better idea of the layout.
They do not need differentiating flags at this course. Back in 2014 before this review was written a pin sheet system was implemented. Each day a zone is defined and a card shows each hole where that pin zone is located. This person may not have seen this and I disagree with this part of the post.

Nice layout. I got to play single which worked out well. Was done with the round in 2 1/2 hours. They started us out on the back 9 and then the front on the turn - which I did not mind.
Started out pretty foggy (7am) but it may be expected at times but cleared up and the sun was out by the time I was done. I grew up in this area but moved away and now that I play golf I wanted to try out the course. The course plays long but it's a fair setup. You want to keep your ball as straight as possible or else you can be looking for them for quiet possibly not find them. The pro-shop is small but has variety.
I will definitely come back to play again.

I played this track for the first time and it was really nice. For a public course, I was very surprised. I would play this over and over again and would recommend it to others to play it. Lots of tee shots are blind shots but a challenging course. Carts have GPS which is nice though I carry my dependable GPS on my phone. Greens were in great shape, the weather was nice (a little warmer than I would like but still had a great time. I can't wait to play it again. The week day morning green fees a bargain.
Thank you for playing at White Clay Creek CC! We happy to hear your courtesy call was made which was a nice gesture and we're glad you got paired up with someone which made your round more enjoyable. We will address the greens concern which you mentioned and restore. Thanks so much for looking out and we can't to see you again!
