This course is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the county. Great layout and conditions for the price.
Only thing that was lacking was somewhere to get quick drinks at the turn.

This course is a gem out in the country. Narrow fairways and smaller greens creates a challenging 18.

The course is great for a muni, but if you are a single player, you cannot book in advance for earlier tee times before 11am.
Do not waste money on membership because you still cannot book a single before 11am. You have to be a walk-in.
This policy is listed anywhere online and they forgot to mention this when in signed up for the membership.

This course has been on my bucket list for years now. Ever since my first Winter Park 10k and running past this emasculate course, my interest has always been peeked.
Fast forward about 7 years to now, my family and I are about to move further south to be closer to family. All I could think about was this course and making sure I played it before I left.
I was not disappointed. From the gentleman checking me to the emasculate greens, it didn’t let down.

This was a hot deal on Golf Now and I would gladly play here anytime. The greens were very dry and extremely fast. Mix this with a very challenging course and you have for an awesome time! We enjoyed the challenge and the frustrations 100%.

So this was the worst round of golf I have ever been a part of. There was a father and his 3 kids. Didn’t matter if you were on the tee box, he would park on the fairway and just let his kids out to play the hole.
Not once showing any care about the people he just interrupted.
Worst part was I got stuck with them in front of me slowing the pace way down. Then one of his kids stole my ball! It was a bright red ball and pretty unique. Then my friend saw the kid using it, so I confronted the dad and he didn’t even apologize! Marshall’s, nope, guess They were busy in the pro shop.

The course conditions were a bit of a challenge, but they were very clear up front online and in person that it was cart path only. They were reseeding the fairways so it was soggy and a bit shaggy. Lucky for me and my "fade" I figured I would manage to stay off of the fairways. Not the case. ha! I ended up hitting a lot of fairways! So I was a happy golfer and willing to deal with some plugged fairway balls and tall fairway grass. Great day, great course and great pairings.

This was my second time playing here, the first was when they were remaking the greens, so there were a few alternate greens on the fairways. Which was completely understandable and helpful for someone of my skill level (none). The weather was cool and crisp, perfect for the fall season. The wind was tough, but it was a great learning experience for me. The greens were in decent shape, not the clubs fault, more to blame on lazy golfers that cannot seem to fix a pitch mark. Must be difficult. ha! Other than that, it was a great day, great company (random stranger) and a course that was in great shape!

Whenever my wife and I drive down to visit family we always pass this course on the turnpike. Even when i didn't swing a club I always was intrigued by the grass and the rolling hill layout. So after finally taking up the sport, I was able to play here finally! the weather was nice an cool with some challenging wind and gusts, but it made it that much better. The layout was great, well place bunkers and water features. I had a blast playing here, especially for the cost, I would definitely come back again.

I have been wanting to play this course since I began playing golf (since March). The historic aspect of this course was interesting to my nerd side and also made me a bit nervous because so many people told me it has narrow fairways and small greens.
It was definitely a lot more narrow that some of the courses I normally play, but it ended up making me concentrate and pay attention to my swing.
The conditions were nearly perfect with the weather and the strangers I was paired with. The fairways were in great condition and it was a a joy to see greens without so many divets. Glad to see players here appreciate nice greens.
Loved this place! I cannot play it every weekend, but for special occasions I will definitely be coming back.

This was my first go at a links style course in my rookie year as a golfer. I really enjoyed the layout, even though I do not have much distance yet, the bunker locations were well placed for an experience player. The conditions were fairways were great, the greens a little tough but they were a few weeks into aeration so that was understandable. It was a first for me, the aeration, took some getting used to, but it all balanced out. This course is a bit of a drive, but a good day trip with some buddies will happen soon.

It had been at least 3 months since my last adventure at Ventura. While checking in, I was pleasantly surprised that they had changed the layout to help increase the pace of play. A little confusing at first, but it was really fast, even for a single golfer. There were a couple of holes that had changed physically, but I like seeing them upgrade this. Felt like a brand new course and the staff was amazing! the greens felt a little slow, but it was a great day.

After months of bugging my wife to come play a round of golf, she finally caved in! Mind you I have only about 4 months of experience, so it was more about the experience of just hanging out with her. The weather was incredible and we were paired with two Dave's! Both couldn't have been more patient and simply amazing gentleman to my wife and I. It was a bit crowded, a couple impatient groups that must have had better things to do, bedsides enjoying beautiful weather. There were temporary greens on the first few holes, but nothing I would call bad. They actually helped my wife with her nervousness. All and all the club was great! The staff especially, I will definetly be returning again.

Went with two of my brother-in-laws and father-in-law for the first time on this course. My BIL's have played several times and were excellent makeshift caddies. The greens were slow at first due to early morning dew, but as the sun increased, they sped up and were great!
the overall experience was amazing, great course for a beginner.

In the realm of golfing I am calling myself a rookie, this word is being too kind to my skill level. The staff at MetroWest was amazing, not once did their upbeat attitude ever seem forced or an act. The starter was extremely friendly, it felt like you have known him for years. The range was a bit rough, but for a warm up area, it got the job done. The chipping and putting area was very clean and maintained. I was lucky enough to be paired with another gentleman that was at my level, which relaxed me even more on my day off.
The course was challenging, with elevation changes and good pin positions on the green. Mind you I am not a great golfer and this was my first time keeping score on all 18. But the layouts didn't make it feel like a resort "take it easy you're on vacation" type of course.
The beverage cart girl was on point and we saw her 3 times, keeping us hydrated and in good spirits.
Overall, I will be back and bringing friends and family.

A coworker of mine was in town for business and brought his clubs. The first place I thought of was Ventura for its proximity to downtown and its well maintained course. The weather was amazing, staff was friendly and the pace was just right.
