Forest Park Golf Course - Red Bud
Played On 12/26/2014Great course with lots of variety
This was my first time playing Forest Park since the redesign and I really enjoyed the overall feel of the new layout. The course offered lots of variety in terms of doglegs, some holes with water, and elevation changes. Overall this was a very enjoyable round. If there was a negative we were the first ones to tee off and I was surprised at the turn to find that we had to wait for a group to tee off. They were nice and it did not slow us down too much be we did end up waiting on a few holes on our back nine. That being said this was a high quality course and I would highly recommend a round here.
Ruth Park Golf Club
Played On 12/23/2014High quality 9 hole gem
I grew up on this course and hand't played it in years. It was in great condition for late December. Surprisingly it played very nicely despite a days worth of rain the day before. The staff was very friendly and since there was very little traffic I was able to play the course twice in under 3 hours. This course will test your game and hour ability to keep it straight but it is very enjoyable and very fair. Highly recommend for 9 holes in the St. Louis area.
Green Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 12/20/2014Quality winter golf
Green Valley Ranch is in great shape for 3 weeks into December. The greens are rolling well for winter and the fairways and tees are in good shape. My experience was really nice the pace was great and the price made it all the more enjoyable. The course was clear of snow and very playable even though other courses in the area were still closed with snow. I have played this course many times and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quality round of golf during the winter months for a reasonable price.
Park Hill Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2014Good overall winter golf
For playing in December the course was still green and in very good shape. I had not played here in a while and was very surprised by the good course conditions. This course has definitely improved from the last time that I played it. For the price this course is an excellent value for winter golf experience. I started at 12:00 and was done by 3:30 well before the sun went down and the cold set in. Overall for winter golf Park Hill proved to be a very good value and experience.
Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club
Played On 10/31/2014Still in great condition later October
I play this course several times and it is always a course that plays in four hours or under. We finished our round in 3 hours and 30 minutes. The course was in great condition and for the price was an amazing deal. Practice facilities were amazing as always. I highly recommend a round here for players of all ability.
The Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree
Played On 07/14/2014With better conditioning I'd give it another chance
This course has the potential to be a great course. Unfortunately it just wasn't in great shape. The greens, bunkers, tees, and conditioning all leave a lot to be desired. Looking past the course conditions, I thought the course was really good. I would not recommend this course for beginners due to the elevation changes and absolute need to hit the ball in the fairway off the tee. In fact even hitting the fairway doesn't guarantee you'll have a good shot to the green. This course will really test your game. On a side note I was not able to locate this course on any of the typical GPS apps that I use which made it that much more difficult to play as I did not have a laser GPS with me. All and all I would absolutely enjoy this course were it in good condition and will bring a hand held GPS for distances if I ever play it again.
Oak Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/07/2014Columbia S.C. quality course
My round at Oak Hills was without a doubt one of the best golf experiences that I have had in Columbia S.C. I found the course to be very fair and forgiving. Approach shots to the greens provided a nice challenge as there was water on some holes, false fronts on others, and plenty of slope to navigate. For the price I would highly recommend a round at Oak Hills Golf Course.
Ranch Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2014Pretty good for the price/May be slow depending on the courses
I was scheduled to play the Ranch and Ridge however when we got to the Ridge side there were two groups waiting on the tee box and our round would have exceeded 5 hours putting us into darkness. My partner and I elected to play the Meadows 9 and we were able to finish the round in just over four hours. Overall the courses were in great condition. For a long ball hitter you really have to plan out your shots and spending the money on a course guide would probably be helpful unless you are playing with a local player. There are a lot of doglegs and various carries to navigate around as well as some holes that are fairly narrow if you spray the ball off the tee . You do hit the ball slightly longer up there so take that into consideration if you hit the ball a long ways. My experience was fun and I would play the courses again on a good deal.
Ute Creek Golf Course
Played On 06/26/2014Excellent Conditions/Great Value
The course was in excellent condition. In addition to the excellent conditions I found this to be a very fun and playable yet challenging course. I would definitely recommend a round at this course and will be returning to play it again soon.
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
Played On 06/25/2014Great Conditions/Great Service
The course was in excellent condition. Was able to play as a single in less than 4 hours. The staff was amazing and allowed me to play earlier than my time since I was a single. Overall experience was excellent. With the GolfNow deal this was definitely worth the drive from Denver.
