There are better courses for the price. Greens were slow and bumpy
National Golf Club makes me want to join a private club
I played National last week with a member of the club. The greens were great, new sand in the bunkers, and best of all 3 hours for 18 holes. The guy in the golf shop was great and made me feel as if I had known him for ages. If it wasn't a hour away I would be a member for sure.

This is my second time in a month playing and I have to say that these greens are the best around. The course is re-sodding 3 tee boxes so there are a few temporary tees, but other than that you can't beat the value this course provides.

Fairways were more weeds than bermuda, Greens were very slow. This may have been due to the rain the week prior but it hadn't rained in two days. Food and beverage was closed at 6 pm so the ratng for that was because it was not available. Not the worst I've played but it was close.

I played this course 4 years ago and said I would not return because of the drainage issues. Then my friend called and said he booked us a tee time through golf now. With all the rain(record rainfalls in June) I though we would be in for a long day. The course was beautiful! Greens were great, staff was great, and considering the amount of rain the facility had the rest of the course was awesome for the price paid. I will be back!
I’m sorry your experience wasn’t what you’re used to, but there are a few things to consider when playing at this time of year. Most courses, including ours, don’t mow as frequently now as we do in season. Basically, the grass isn’t growing at the same rate as it does in warmer weather. It will completely shut down growing very soon. In our case we might mow twice weekly at this time of year. Mostly to clean the greens up. It’s a good idea at this time of the year to follow a preceding days weather conditions before deciding to play. Any rain or freezing conditions will have a negative impact on putting conditions.
