Disappointing

Got a good deal on Golfnow so I wasn't concerned about the half hour drive. The course however was wet making for a sloppy game. Insufficient ball washers to clean the clubs after shots. No drinking water. Containers were there but no water. Greens were inconsistent, some holding shots while most bounced like pavement. Not a fair layout for high handicappers or women. Too many carries over hazards (water or bunkers) in front of greens. I liked the challenge because I am a single digit handicap but my wife did not enjoy it because of the long carries.

Would definitely recommend

Very professional staff, from bag drop to pro shop to starter, everyone was helpful and friendly. Golf course was in decent shape considering the recent weather conditions. Greens in good shape but slow probably due to cloudy and moist day. Would like to play again when the sun and temp. improve. It would be a different experience for sure.

Nice place to play

Course was in good shape for the end of Feb. Was adequate for low handicapper and fun enough for high handicapper. Steady flow of golfers, yet pace of play was under 4 hrs.

Nice tract but in need of upgrades

Played the course on a perfect early March aft. Course was full, and no ranger or marshal to be had. Groups teeing off before us with times that were scheduled 20 minutes after us. Course and greens were as hard as a rock and shouldn't be for this time of year. Cart paths were rugged to drive on. Having said that, with an infusion of capital into the golf course, it would be a pleasure to play. It is a great layout, a challenge for me and fair for my wife, a high handicapper.

Appealling and fair

Nice layout for both low and high handicaps. Many right and left dogleg holes making you think about your tee shots. The only negative about the course is the condition of their bunkers. I experienced more than a dozen bunkers over the 18 holes and there was little to no sand in them, making it difficult to play a decent sand shot and holding the greens.

Put this on your must play list.

Playing several times a week, this is my type of course. It is the type of track that makes you think your way around to keep it interesting rather than a wide open boring style of course. Fair though for higher hadicappers, it is one of the nicer places I have played on the island this winter. Fast interesting greens and perfect weather made it a great experience. Would definitely play again.

Course for all skill levels

I would recommend this course for all skill levels. It is open enough for high handicappers and has plenty of challenge for low handicap players. Greens are fast, tricky and roll great. The fairways were in good shape, but this is Feb., and I can just imagine how nice they will be in a couple months.

Walked

It's November

The pace of play was not the best, but when you attempt to get a round in on Nov.1 in 75F weather, you have to expect it to be crowded. The course condition for Southwestern Ontario( Canada) in November was very good and with the fall rates in effect, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Not what was expected

The course was in rough shape. After experiencing other Brown Golf Group courses,(Eagle's Pointe and Cresent Point) this one was very disappointing. Not sure if it just didn't weather well this winter, but the greens were blotchy and uneven at best and the fairways patchy. Good layout for beginner or high handicapper.

Well Crescent and Eagles Pointe have almost caught up to IW which still l eads the pack as terrible courses.

Don't pass this on up

A true Arnold Palmer design. The views from the tee were truly amazing. Course was in great shape considering it was still the winter. Most greens were rolling true and fast and the fairways were descent considering the cool, clouds and rain. Could just imagine what it would look like and how it would play in the late spring or summer months. Would play again. Only drawback would be the lack of hole illustration either on the score card or at the tee box showing hazards and trouble.

One of the best for this time of year

Played the end of Feb. and was one of the best conditioned courses in the area that I had played all month. Greens were in great shape and will only get better once the weather warms up. Was equally challenging and enjoyable for my wife, who doesn't play a lot, and myself who plays 4 times a week.

Good at the right price

Wasn't expecting much (prime conditions) when playing on groundhog day. Course was crowded, but pace of play was excellent. Not laid out very well, however, you are driving all over the place to get from green to tee. Carts on path only led to a lot of walking just to figure out distances. They need to mark on pathway distances like 150 and 200 yd. Greens were in excellent shape and once it gets a chance to mature, will be a challenge for all types of golfers.
