Excellent Value

My wife and I golfed here in May. The course is located near Costco which was great. They offer a great discount card there to golf at the course. We only played the front 9 holes, but did a quick cruise around the back 9. The back is deeper into the jungle, whereas the front is very open with less character. I will definately golf here again, it is a good course with several challenging holes. If you want to save some cash, take a zodiac cruise for the ocean views, and golf here.

Mind if I ask what the Costco discount was like? We'll be going to Kauai and staying at our timeshare this May. We hope to get a couple of rounds in.

Great Views, Great Value, Great Golf

I am a single digit handicap golfer with over 30 years experience golfing on the east coast as a professional and amateur golfer. I have been fortunate enough to play many exquisite courses there, but my golf ventures to the Palm Springs area have just begun. My wife and I enjoyed The Dunes Course very much. She has not been able to golf as much this year, so the "EXPRESS TEES" were a perfect fit. They allowed her to play shorter irons into the greens, and it kept us comfortably in front of the group behind us. I try to play the tips, unless a course is well over 7000 yards. the air is thin here, so my drives traveled at least an extra 25 yards each hole (good for the ego). the course was very tame compared to most Dye courses I have enjoyed in the past. There are fair landing areas, and exciting undulation around the greens, but not too much craziness on the greens. Dye does not give you a free swing on the first hole, with a large water hazard on the right. Later, on the back 9, the course has many hazards including the 17th and 18th where tee shots and approaches are protected by hazards, testing your nerves when finishing off your round. This is an excellent value if you are lucky enough to play after 2pm for $39.00. We snuck over to the Mountain Course in our cart to see the back 9, you don't want to miss seeing #'s 15-17 in the hills.
