Our foursome played Hopewell Valley on a Saturday afternoon. This was our 2 nd time playing the course. The last time we played it was prior to the course being acquired by Mercer County. The conditions were very good and it was clear that the county put some money into the course, repairing bridges, ,cart paths , and overall general conditions. The only complaints with the conditions would be that some of the tee boxes were a little worn and that the gnats were voluminous and annoying. We obtained a good deal on Golf Now and hope to play it again this fall.

My wife and myself enjoyed the layout and conditions. The staff was helpful. When we checked in we were told everyone starts on hole no 1 today. When we made the turn we found ourselves behind 3 golf carts with 6 people, 3 kids and 3 adults. After we skipped a hole to get ahead of them , we found ourselves behind another group with 3 carts, 4 players and a spectator…???? This should not occur.

Greens were in great shape. Some fairways were burnt out, but there have been drought conditions in central NJ this summer. We played on a Sunday, teed off at 12:20 and played in less than 4 hours. We never had to wait.

The best thing you can say about the course is that the staff is friendly. They need an in course ranger to speed up the pace of play. We had a 5 hour round , stuck behind 4 men more interested in doing shots and drinking beer than playing golf. They left a club behind on 25% of the holes!!! Many fairways are burnt out and the sand traps contain lots of rocks and pebbles…..

Fairways and greens in good shape. Bunkers were in good shape and well- maintained. The staff was friendly. We played as a twosome in 3 hours and ten minutes .Great value for the money.!!

We played on Sunday for $37 dollars. The layout is enjoyable. The conditions were very poor. They did warn us on the website and with a sign hanging on the door. But to charge $37 for those conditions was a joke!! They should have paid us to play. Come back next year !

Nice layout. Good conditions. Water comes into play on some holes.

We played on 12/27. My foursome had a 11:15 tee time. We teed off on time behind a twosome. We kept up with the twosome for almost 4-5 holes. Around the 12 th hoke, Bill, the grumpy course ranger, tells us we need to pick up the pace. The 2 some passed the foursome in front of them and we were out of position. There was no one behind us!! We said , ‘ we are on pace for a 4:15 minute round, and there is no one behind us.’ Bill said that rounds here at Valencia should be played in 4 hours! In 2 holes we caught the foursome in front of us . There was absolutely no need to break our chops about pace of play. There was no one behind us!!!!
Valencia is located over 30 minutes from 41, not the most conveniently located. There is a time and place to enforce pace of play rules , and Mr. Bill was out of line. I am not sure that I will return to Valencia.

We played 2.28.18. Our tee time was delayed by a half hour. It took us almost 2.5 hours to play the front nine. Painful! The greens are spray painted green and need some more grass .
We Played the palm course. Course had a nice layout with some hills. Finished in the moonlight. Play early or play elsewhere . Twilight rate was reasonable.

We arrived at 10 am for a 10:48 tee time. They were already out of carts. And they were a 1/2 hour delayed!! I ordered range balls, went to machine to enter the pin and the pin had already been used. I went back to the pro shop and they told me to talk to the cart guy. There was only 1 cart guy for 2 courses. He said he could not help. I went back to the pro shop and demanded a refund after a 15 minute run around. We teed off a 1:2 hour late and it took almost 4.75 hours to play. Avoid this course.

We played the course on Friday 2/23/18. The staff members were very helpful and friendly (Matt and Ben). We played the course fron the blue tees, it played about 5800 yards. Conditions were good, the greens rolled well. The course is a bit narrow and sone of the tee boxes are very close to the greens, so be careful. A good place to start your week off of golf in the area.

I played in a foursome on Saturday am 1/27/18 at 11:38. We finished in four hours and 15 minutes. Scoring was difficult with a 2 to 3 club wind. Greens were in great condition , they were advertised to be rolling at a 10 but I don't think they were really rolling that fast. 2 of the holes were cart path only. A few of the fairways had some bare spots , which is disappointing for this time of year. The. Layout is a little tight at times. Not an easy course to score on for a first timer. You are probably better off leaving your driver in the bag on most holes. A fair tract for a fair price. The course is alcohol free , FYI..
