Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course
Played On 03/01/2024Great for the value
It’s a solid semi short 9 hole right on the lake. Easy to get to and a lot more convenient than heading to the suburbs. For being March in the Midwest the course was in great shape and the greens were on the quicker side. When it picks up they do a great job of pushing along the slower groups and keeping pace. Longest round I’ve ever seen payed in the last three years is 2:15.
Glenview Park Golf Club
Played On 06/30/2020Won’t be going back
Tight fairways and lots of bunkers, definitely a placement course. Fairways were in rough shape and the greens were extremely bumpy. Ranger came up to us as we were finishing 17 and said we weren’t allowed to play 18 cause they had to close. Plenty of light and we didn’t have carts, they just made up excuses so they could go home early. Won’t be going back.

If they actually put some money into this course instead of the parking it might be worth playing. Greens are extremely slow and have been all year. Dead spots in the fairways, most of the rough is dead or trampled by carts, Especially around the greens. I wouldn’t pay more than $25 to play either of the courses here
Metamora Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/26/2019Expected better
With it being semi private I expected better conditions and pace of play. Our round took over five hours and we kept pace with the group in front of us. Tee box was stacked and we didn’t tee off until 10 minutes after our tee time. Rough was extremely dry/dead on a lot of holes. I enjoyed the speed of the greens, don’t be above the hole or you’ll run off.
Sanctuary Lake Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2017Good value
They're running specials for tee times before 8am, teed off at 7:16am and was finished by 9:30am playing by myself. Course was in good shape a little wet in the low areas. This course is tough when the winds coming out of the north/northeast. Would be in even better shape if other golfers were considerate and replaced their divets.
Copper Hills Golf Club - Jungle Course
Played On 11/05/2015Good fall golf
The course was in fantastic shape for November in Michigan( I must admit my expectations are not high this time of year for northern golf). Played The Hills and the Marsh course (jungle was closed for the season) they have some fun layouts that force good course management to score well. Greens were still rolling alright for being aerated, a few were pretty bumpy. Would like to play here again earlier next season when the course is in peak condition. It was most likely the last day of the season for them so not much left to choose from beverage-wise, but they still had hot dogs.
Richmond Forest Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2015Don't hit out of the bunkers
One of the slowest rounds I have ever played, the course was so over booked it took 3 and a half hours to get through the front nine. The bunkers are riddled with rocks ranging from the size of a golf ball to the size of my fist and a good amount of them are buried just under the sand. Very dangerous, not only for your clubs, but for your playing partners as the rocks could easily fly out and injure someone.
Richmond Forest Golf Club
Played On 6/2/2013Pretty good value
This course is a pretty good value for the money. The greens are sectional so you really have to be accurate hitting into them or it will take two putts just to have a chance to make one. I would rate it higher but the bunkers have rocks in them. Not pebbles, rocks about twice the size of a golf ball that could really damage your wedges.
Bruce Hills Golf Club
Played On 5/15/2013Nice course for the price
It is a very short course but some good hazard placements and a lot of dog legs makes up for it. Greens were really firm so good course management was a must.
