Shining Mountain Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2018Love this challenging course.
Considering all the factors due to low moisture in our area, the fairways are in decent condition, and the greens are very good. Hard to beat the scenery. If you like a little above challenging your skills this course will do it. My only complaints are minor ones that are just that, minor! Signage to get to next hole has improved from last year, but still a few holes for newcomers that are hard to tell where the next tee is. I think they are a little hyper about their protected areas for the vegetation, sorry I don't see anything but mimimal harm. I guess it helps me to be a better golfer so I don't end up in the rough as often! Again, it is "minor". Thanks for one of the very best courses in the whole area!!
Patty Jewett Golf Course - Plains Nine
Played On 11/23/2016Well designed & well kept course
One of the best kept courses ever. The fairways were broad and green, some elm leaves made it a little difficult to find ball if off the fairway. Really appreciated the electric carts and not having to stay on the cart path, especially at this time of the year. Easy to go from one hole to the other. Greens were in excellent condition.
King's Deer Golf Club

This course does have great features, rolling hills, great variety of hole designs, greens and fairways are in great shape , both are challenging, not many flat easy shots. Only bad part was not being able to drive cart on the fairway at all, understandable but really adds lots of walking and time consuming. 90 degree rule would be a good compromise.

I love the course and the fantastic views are on almost every hole. There is only one main complaint, it was the lack of good signage with directions to the next hole. There were at least 4 to 5 holes that there were two or three ways you could take to the next hole and a simple arrow or info on a inexpensive sign for anyone not familiar with the course. I did tell the front desk and they finally admitted it might be a good thing to do. They spend $100's on advertising to get new people and then they neglect to do this simple thing. It causes delay to get to the tee and backs everyone up. I hope this simple fix gets done to show they do care about new people to their fine course??!!!!
