Dub's Dread Golf Club
Played On 01/24/2015I wish it was closer to my home.
Probably my favorite course I have played. We played in the dead OF winter and even though the grass was dormant and the weather was chilly it was still a great round. I played with my wife from the red tees. At first I was suspect of the young kid at the counter but he quickly earned my appreciation. Pro shop was stocked appropriately. Bar and food seemed good although we did not eat there. By the clubhouse attendance I assume they do a good job. I also bought a hat and my wife a skirt. If I ever make it down to KC again I will be there. About 15 minutes from DT KC.
Mozingo Lake Recreation Park Golf Course
Played On 01/23/2015Mid January golf has limitations
Nice overall course. Wide open. We played in Mid January probably mid 40s with a strong wind. Course had nice views. Fairly basic course. Food consisted of Reece's and chips.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 03/16/2014Not the best value in the area
I would start by saying this area like much of the country has had a really hard winter. This showed in the fairways and greens.
The Clubhouse:
When you drive up you won't be blown away by the clubhouse. Its looks like a double wide trailer. Although it was about as nice as could be for what it is. Seems like it may be temporary until they build a real one. Was stocked sufficiently and very friendly staff. Gentleman helped us putting our clubs on the cart. Kind of a nice touch. After the full experience I would say I was very satisfied with all aspects of the clubhouse.
Golf Cart:
Nice electric carts. Seemed new and plenty of speed. 90 degree rule was in effect. The cart paths were nice and new.
Course:
We were started on #10. The layout of the course is fun. The hard winter made the fairways seem like hitting of concrete. Grass was yellow/brownish and dormant. Also seemed like it should have been cut a little longer to account for this. With the ground being so hard and the grass so short it made every shot more challenging. You needed to be on your A game. Would be tough for an average or below player to have a solid round. This is why I gave the course difficulty I did. If in good condition the course would be an average difficulty.
I don't recall water falls, stone work or anything that was and attraction. The overall views were pretty much new construction. For the money I have played other courses in that area.
Mill Run at Mill Run Golf Course
Played On 10/02/2013Great instructor
I took lessons from Jim. Worked wonders for me as I was just beginning to play. He taught me the basics of set up and helped me become a better ball striker. Highly recommend him. As for the course it is a fun course. The layout makes up for the crowdedness. As with most courses call ahead to avoid leagues. Otherwise you may be waiting on every tee box.
Lake Hallie Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2013Overall good course.
I play this course a couple times a month. I enjoy the bottom 9 better than the top. They made some great improvements last year and seem to be doing more on an ongoing basis. Normally one of the slower courses in the Eau Claire area. Food and Beverage is above average compared to what is expected. Driving range is limited to irons only.
Princeton Valley Golf Course
Played On 10/01/2013Great 9 hole course.
I liked the course so much I bought a house on it. Nice layout with ALOT of trees. Course is well maintained. The clubhouse is fair. Yankee Jacks is a nice place to grab a bite and drink after as well. My only real complaint would be when it's busy they tend to lack the ability to get people off in a timely manner and there is never anyone out keeping people moving. 9 holes can take a bit of time.
