Great value, lots of variety in 18 holes

First time to play it and we will be back, I'm sure, even though it is a bit of a drive from Orange County. (45 minutes with no traffic) Many very unique holes, a few almost links style flat holes with very wide fairways, then a few very narrow fairways, then some serious elevation changes, a couple of long carries (for a 18 handicap) and all in all a fun day. The greens must have been punched around the first week of the month so they are back about 90% perfect. Fairways are in great shape. I avoided the bunkers but they looked a little rough to me. No driving range, but there is a cage to warm up a little.

I'd play it again

A very nice variety of holes. Fantastic views due to all of the elevation changes, especially on the front nine. the greens and the bunkers were in very good shape. This time of year all courses in S. CA are challenged what with scalping, overseeing, aeration, etc. so I'm not going to hold that against Eagle Glen. But there are quite a few areas that should be marked 'ground under repair' and aren't. Some areas were cart path only as they were quite wet and other areas were quite dry. The clubhouse and pro shop are really, really nice.

Too bad, so sad.

This course has gone down hill, no pun intended. Fairways dry as a bone mostly but then pools of water in places. Some bunkers with good same d but others like cement or very wet. Greens slower than I thought possible. We won't return at any price until we hear conditions have improved.

Good course, tricky greens

We like this course. It is in very good condition and every hole is different. Lots of elevation changes, not a lot of water, but plenty of bunkers. The green side bunkers were wet when we played, which made it tough. The greens were quite fast and have lots of undulations and hidden slopes.

Early Morning Speedy Round

We play here several times per year. The greens are always in excellent condition, smooth and fast. They are tricky, though, with lots of subtle breaks. We teed off at 6:56 and were probably about the third group off. We were never rushed but almost never had to wait either and we finished in 3 hours and 20 minutes. My 3 stars for course condition are based upon a lot of really patchy spots on the fairways, some marked ground under repair (with no repairs obvious) but many not. And there is very little sand in many of the greenside bunkers.

Good value for Orange County

For $29 I am not going to complain about some bare spots in the fairways. The greens are in excellent shape (but they are aerating soon, so check before you book a tee time. I'm writing this on March 29.

Greens punched and sanded on August 20-21, 2013

It is an excellent course but we booked through Golf Now and there was no notification on the site that the greens had just been aerated. The rest of the course was in quite good condition, especially for August in the desert. Also, note: they close the range on Thursday a.m. for maintenance and Golf Now didn't mention this either so we had an hour to kill.

Great potential, but needs work

This course is really beautiful and I found it quite challenging. There are several blind shots and many elevation changes that make for many interesting holes. It appears that the course gets a lot of play and unfortunately that includes rude people who do not repair their ball marks or rake the traps. We played at 2:16 in the afternoon and the greens and traps were just trashed. My other complaints regard the traps being lacking in sand, very crusty to the point of almost hitting off of hardpan, and the rough being in truly "rough" shape. By that I mean many areas of dead grass with clumps of new grass trying to grow every few inches. We got a decent price, at $55, and I think it was worth that but I wouldn't pay rack rate to play it again.

Beautiful course, first class operation all the way.

We live in Palm Desert so usually we play at our "home" course, Desert Willow. But in the summer, it is possible to play other courses at reasonable prices, so we headed over to Indian Wells Celebrity course. We found the staff to be helpful, the greens immaculate (though tricky) and the conditions excellent. We especially noted the amount of shade, compared to many desert courses. It is really nice to have so much shade available in the summer! And the many water features were at least mentally cooling and nice to look at. We will definitely return. Also, we had a really delicious lunch in the restaurant afterwards. And the "special" was a Grey Goose Martini for $7, so took advantage of that, too! It was a good day.

Beautiful scenery, excellent condition, good food, too.

I had never played here before but will definitely do so again. A fun course, not terribly long, but challenging enough. We had a great time, no one pushing us, no waiting and the staff brought out iced towels during the round a couple of times. For $35 per man?
Oh yeah.

This course is hillier than you expect in the desert.

And the greens are multi-tiered with lots of undulations, which is what made it most challenging. Tee to green, there are mature trees lining the generous fairways and on Dec. 4, due to the recent overseeding I'm sure, the rough was thick enough that we lost some balls that we knew where they entered the rough. But pace of play was very good, the greens were hard and fast, there is plenty of fluffy sand in the traps and the fairways were in great shape. All in all, it was fun.
