Nice fairways, but cut a little too tight especially for the summer in Texas. Traps are skimpy on a vey fine sand, which plays like hardpan for several days following rain. A coarser sand would be better… and not blow away like it tends to now.

Greens good as usual….. with no effort by golfers ( or mgmt) to repair ball marks.

Needs a couple trees ON COURSE for a little shade break.

Well maintained course, with no elevation changes. Wind and water chances on most holes are the challenge. If you hit straight you can score. Slice and u r dead.. A few firced carries, but can be managed.

Greens are very well maintained, BUT… …. Few players repair ball marks and marshalling to enforce is not done at all.

Fairways are green and often best south of Houston.

Need to upgrade sand quality/ quantity in traps.

Need some trees ON COURSE for asthetics and to penalize weak shots…. Left side cart path on 18, left side of 3, shirt left on 14… as a few suggestions.

Practice greens are super..

Plenty of hi HC and tourists play here. There is no effort by mgmt/ marshalls to protect course….. carts are routinely driven near greens, divots are rarely sanded, ball marks on greens are never repaired…. Marshall presence is minimal and nothing is done to correct above poor ettiquette

Greens have gotten bad since NOBODY makes any effort to repair ball marks on green, and mgmt dies NOTHING to police or encourage basic player ettiquette. Likewise for fairway divots but less of an effect on your game.

Little if no marshall presence on course lately.... cutbacks ?

nice course, have played several times. There seems to be no interest in encouraging players to respect course.
1 no one repairs ball marks on greens
2 Carts are driven vey clise to greens... ni signs for” no carts past here”
3 no respect for wetlands... people walk in marsh grass and ricks dumped over marsh grass re erosion

Of late the ground crew has been clear cutting all shrubs adjacent to water hazards. i suppose it does improve the look of certain holes

But the clear cut of waste shrub area in front of hole #3 (black and back tees) has ruined what was one of the best holes on the course. boooooooo

I have played here 4-6 times, and keep hoping it will improve. Course is iff the beaten path, but close to our family home in Josephine.

Fairways are very wide and generally in good shape, as I would expect from. a turf farming family ownership.

Greens are generally slow and spotty, esp around fringe area.

Soldier Creek is nowhere to be found and layout is very straightforward with only 3 or 4 interesting holes.

Easy to get on, VERY basic clubhouse, and too expensive for what course offers.

If you want a quick and eady round, this may be for you.
