Split Rock Golf Club
Played On 07/21/2021This course is not too crowded
I generally play with a buddy or two (rarely have a foursome) that have some physical limitations. Most courses pair us up with strangers and I feel bad for my friends and anyone forced to play with us, as we're just trying to have a good time.
Split Rock is generally not too crowded and we can play as a twosome at our own pace. This course could use a little work, but is a good value for the money. If you're looking for a country club experience, this isn't the course for you.

Most of the tee boxes weren't level. Golfers don't expect downhill & sidehill lies when teeing off. Also, this is the only course I play where I can't make any putts because the greens make it impossible to read the breaks. The greens need to be "rolled" to eliminate ruts and create a more consistent roll of the ball. The greens also didn't receive approach shots very well, as our shots often would hit and then roll right off the green. Perhaps a little bit more watering would help. There were quite a lot of bare patches throughout the course. A lot of downed branches and twigs were kind of annoying.
