Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
Played On 06/18/2020Fast Greens
Lake Jovita (North)is one of the nicest courses in the Tampa Bay area. For a high handicapper it is a real challenge, not so much in your approach to the greens but once you get on the greens. The greens are some of the fastest greens I've seen around and I play an average of 4 rounds of golf a week at various courses. Despite this, it was an incredibly great day with great friends, especially for a hot deal price of $25. A couple tee boxes need work, but the fairways are in great condition, the sand traps are filled with sand, unlike many surrounding courses that are rock hard or thin. Play the North Course, you won't be disappointed. My next venture there is to play the South Course, which is just as good and even more challenging than the North Course.
Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/22/2018Fun course to add to our play list
What a great course to play at an incredible GolfNow Hot Deal price. A definite must play again. Course was virtually empty and our twosome was playing at a nice pace of 1.5 hours for the front nine, and then we ran into a foursome on the twelfth hole, who had no one in sight in front of them and would not let us play through, despite seeing us waiting in our cart, off to the side of the tee area for the last six holes, as they were teeing off. I don’t know where people are taught golf ettiquette, but obviously this foursome must of missed that class. On several occasions, when they turned around and saw us waiting while they were standing in the fairway waiting for one of their group to hit (and not playing ready golf), they easily could have motioned for us to play through. This of course has nothing to do with the golf course but it is a note to those people who read this, to think about being considerate to the people playing behind you.........especially if no one is in front of you and if you can see the group behind you is constantly waiting for you to hit and move on. Needless to say, it took us another three hours to play the final six holes. Course was in great condition despite all the wet weather we’ve had recently. Other courses we’ve played recently were very wet or cart path only, but we really couldn’t find any areas here that we had to avoid because of standing water. Greens were relatively fast, and rolled well. Fairways were in great shape but several tee boxes were in need of some repair due to bare spots and rock hard ground. Overall, a pleasant surprise, it’s a great course when you think about all the other courses in the area that they have to compete with. This course is just as good and costs a lot less money.
Pebble Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/10/2018Not in great, or even good, shape!
I thought I would never say the words Pebble Creek and dry in the same sentence but the course is pretty much dried up. The course has gone from being overly wet and under water to completely dried out. Pace of play was great cause there’s no one playing there. Maybe the fact that they’ve aerated and sanded the greens recently, is keeping people away also. By the way, GolfNow makes no mention of an Aeration warning on their site. Tee boxes were also in very poor condition, with little grass to hit off of, mainly dirt. Overall, quite a disappointing round of golf on what was one of my favorite courses in the New Tampa/Wesley Chapel area. Maybe with a little rain in the forecast this week, things will begin to green up and grow again and fill in the ponds and water areas.
Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 10/12/2017Great Course
A friend and I played during a weekday afternoon and the only players on the course, that we could see, was the couple in front of us that had the same tee time as us. We played in a little over three hours. We had been warned about all the water on the course, that was in play, but found the water to be no problem. We found all the workers at the course, from Pro-Shop, to Cart person, to workers on the course, to be very friendly and helpful in making our day an absolutely great round of golf.
Scotland Yards Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2017Getting better every time I play there
Moved down to Florida in June and started playing Scotland Yards in July. From that time till now the course just keeps getting better and better. Greens are in great condition, along with the fairways and tees. Maybe not the best in the area but they have come a long way from July till now, doing it with the lack of rain that we've experienced since October. Much of the overgrowth and brush around the course is gone, making it a more appealing sight while you're playing. My hats off to the entire staff and workers for changing Scotland Yards from a don't waste your time course to one of the nicest and got to play courses in the Zephyrhills/Wesley Chapel/ Dade City area.
Heritage Harbor
Played On 01/18/2017Great round
Weather has been great for golf and the course helped to make the day better. Course was not packed so we moved along nicely. Fairways and many tee boxes were barren and need work but the greens were in great shape despite needing some cutting and were very small in size (thin in depth as you approach them). Had my second lowest round of the year so I can't complain. Overall, a good golf course to play using a GolfNow discount. Will definitely be back.
Silverado Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/08/2016Another great day of golf
Despite having Tropical Storm Hermine come through less than a week ago, the course was in great shape. Fairways were mowed, greens were in great shape and very few spots had pooled water or were muddy. In many areas there were a lot more cart signs keeping you on the cart path or away from wet areas but that was to be expected post-Hermine. Overall, another great day of golf at Silverado and reduced rates with GolfNow makes the round even better.
Quail Hollow Golf Course
Played On 07/21/2016Great day of golf
Course is very easy to get to. Everyone I ran into was very friendly and welcoming. Starter let me begin off the back nine rather than sending me out with a father and his two young boys, which I would have done if I had to. There was a lot of rain over the past few days so the fairways were very wet and there was clumps of mowed grass, but it didn't affect overall play. The layout of the course is a basic what you see is what you get. No surprises. Definitely will be playing this course during my weekly rotation with reduced GolfNow bargains.
Heritage Isles Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/30/2016Where are all the golfers???
Played this course mid-week in the afternoon with a GolfNow discount. I didn't see any players on the course till I got to the 17th hole. Where is everyone. It's a nicely laid out course, not extremely challenging, tee boxes and fairways were in good shape, greens rolled well, staff was friendly. Played 18 in a little over two hours. I guess being from Connecticut I was expecting a 4+ hour round and having to wait for groups ahead of me. Definitely will be playing here several times this summer and into the fall.
Thanks for the review! We're looking forward to having you back throughout the summer and fall.
The Golf Club At Oxford Greens
Played On 07/06/2015Oxford (how good a putter are you) Greens
What a great course. Well maintained and well kept. From the first hole to the last the greens test your putting abilities. Just about every green is undulating and every putt rolls fast. Fairways are like carpets and the rough is not that bad. Each tee shot has to be well placed to set up your second shot. Fairway and greenside bunkers are stategically placed and well maintained if you find yourself having to get out. Overall I can see myself playing this course two or three more times this season thanks to the GolfNow hot deals.
Woodbridge Country Club
Played On 08/15/2014Much improved
Played this course twice last year, once in the summer and once in the late fall. Last year, both times, the course was virtually vacant and the course was not in great shape. The greens were eaten out, tee boxes were worn out and the fairways were almost nonexistent. This year there are people everywhere, playing golf, at the pool and on the tennis courts. The golf course was in much, much better shape then it was last year. Greens are in great shape, tee boxes have grass, and the fairways are well maintained. Can't wait to play here again during the late fall.
Juliette Falls
Played On 06/26/2014Make sure you play this one
Came all the way from Connecticut to play this one while in the area. What a great course. Every fairway was a manicured carpet. Greens were undulating but rolled smooth, unlike other courses I've played in the area. Great scenery, and more than enough sand bunkers to keep you focused on your shot making. With GolfNow's lower rates this course was a steal. Definitely will play this course again when I'm back in the area visiting relatives.
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
Played On 04/14/2014Love this course
Played the course several times last year during the summer and the course was always in great condition. Played yesterday (early April) and the course was in great shape despite a long winter. One of my favorite courses.
Thank you for your review, Michael! We are so glad you've enjoyed our course and we look forward to having you back during your weekly rotation!
