This is one of the very best daily fee courses in Northern CA

I have played Yocha Dehe many times and have never had a bad round there. Today it rained a bit but the course was in perfect condition. Tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens were as good as the best courses in the world. Even the rough was perfect (eg deep grass and hard to get out of)..The staff acts like they want you to have a great time and my wife and i did as we have many times before today..

All things considered this is my favorite golf course in Northern California..

Great Course but unfortunately the staff was dishonest

I hate to write reviews like this and it is especially difficult in tha I like the golf course a great deal. Essentially what happened is that Paiute requires you to return your power carts to the cart cleaning area and you cannot drive to your car to unload the clubs and gear. When I did this with my son we inadvertently (obviously) left a new $500 laser range finder in the cart. By the time we got to the car with our clubs which we were required to pick up at the club drop off area we didn't notice the missing range finder. I did notice the next morning and called the pro shop bright and early only to be told that after a check with staff that no one reported finding the range finder,. I was told to call back later that day which I did to no avail.
We had used used the range finder on the last hole and we are certain it was in the cart when we finished. I am a stickler for honesty and knowing this expensive piece of golf gear was stolen by Paiute staff is very disappointing. We visit Las Vegas frequently as my wife's parents live there. We were just there this past weekend and I wanted to play Paiute but couldn't bring myself to do it because of this very un customer friendly situation. I played the excellent TPC course instead.
I realize they don't pay the cart guys much but that day we gave them a nice $5 tip for cleaning the clubs and our reward was a stolen Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder.

I'm over that but will not return to Paiute due to the unapologetic attitude. from the shop staff. I would be very angry if it were my course and knew the staff was stealing from patrons.

Great golf course near Las Vegas

My son and I had a great time playing the very difficult Wolf course. It was my 2nd visit and his 1st time. It was windy and so played more difficult than my last visit. The thing that soured me was I left a $500 range finder in the cart and although calling the pro shop the next morning, it was never found. At the Wolf like the other Paiute courses you pull the cart into a return area and then your clubs are delivered to the bag drop area. You can't drive to your car with the cart., In the confusion with this strange policy and because we were in a hurry I forgot about the range finder in the Cart. Needless to say one of the attendants stole the range finder (best tip he ever received). It has really soured me on this great course and facility and my several calls to the pro shop as a followup were received with very little interest or concern.
To contrast, playing the K-Club in Ireland I left a GPS watch on the push cart I used and they not only notified me the next day, but they shipped it to me in California free of charge That is great customer service. and the Paiute management should pay attention. .

One of the best

If Yocha Dehe isn't the best daily fee golf course in Northern California for +/- $100 I don't know what is. I've played Yocha Dehe 10 times this year and it has always been in great shape. The stall is great and it feels more like a private club. WHile it is fair and playable it is also tough with hazards placed in places good players hit the ball.it has a very nice range (free use with green fee) and practice areas that again, more resembles a private club.

It's associated with a Nearby Casino which is also good or so I'm told as I only gamble when playing golf ;-)

Boring and SLOW!

If 100 yd wide fairways are your thing then Lincoln Hills is your kind of course. It was Fathers Day so pace was SLOW but it was really painfully slow. So much so that I quit after 9 and then played 2 holes on the companion Vineyard course until I ran into yet another 3 groups on the same hole situation,

8 minute tee time gaps is one problem but this is a retirement course and as such it's designed to be user friendly. For me that equates to boring. Add slow play and I'm out of there never to return.

Yes, you might expect Fathers Day Sunday would generally SLOW but the 8 min between tee times didn't help. If it were a better course I might of hung in there but there were 3 groups on many holes and being the very user friendly retirement course it is was enough for me.

Not a course I would play again considering all of the better course/condition options in the area.

So you're saying the golf course was crowded on a Fathers Day, a Sunday......

One of the best daily fee courses I've ever played

I played The Golf Course at Glen Mills during a recent business trip to Philadelphia. Had played another course (Broadrun) the day before which is in the same area and was a beautiful user friendly layout (Ishot 78). and thought Glen Mills would be more of the same (NOT!). Fortunately, I played with a local (former club champ and very nice guy) who knew the course well. He recommended the blue tees as the tips might be a bit challenging for a first timer like me. Boy was he right, Literally every tee provided a great if not intimidating look. Other than a birdie on the 9th hole, this beautiful course absolutely chewed me up and spit me out.

As I said to my playing partners, I never had so much fun getting my butt kicked by a golf course. Perhaps it would play easier from the white tees, but with narrow fairways, deep rough, many well positioned bunkers and multi elevation greens, this course reminded me of mountain golf courses I grew up playing but was much tougher, I'm a solid 6 index and probably shot in the 90's. I say probably because there were several X's on the card.

I don't want to scare anyone off, but this course is something special and if you're a casual golfer or beginner, please play somewhere else, I have a score (pun intended) to settle with The Golf Course at Glen Mills and despite living 2000 miles away, I will be back. If I lived closer, this would be the course I could happily play every week. I've been playing for over 50 years and this is one of the best ever.

Slow Play, unfair mini-golf level greens

What a waste of time and besides the greens, the course wasn't difficult. The greens were hard and stupid fast with extreme undulations. Simply unplayable for the most part. Slow play and no marshalls despite claims of strict policing of pace of play. I won't be returning to Teal Bend.
