Brierwood Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2014Renewal on the Way
My son and I returned to Brierwood after about 6 years and were glad to see that it was under new management. We would have known that when we reached the first green, for it was better than any we remembered from our previous visit. Spoke to a young man in the clubhouse who seemed genuinely excited about both the planned improvements to the course and the changes being made to the clubhouse and restaurant. Can't wait to return next year while here on vacation and see the revitalized Brierwood . . . it will no longer be the best kept secret, but a great little course to play. I just hope they keep the greens fees reasonable! If you're looking for a super challenge, there are plenty of courses available for you, but if you'd like a pleasant round of golf for the average golfer, this is the course for you.
Mill Quarter Plantation Country Club
Played On 10/2/2013Super little course
Great greens, well maintained fairways, and fair but challenging holes make this an awesome place to play, while not breaking the bank. The staff was great - even the snack bar worker was super. My only reason for not rating it a 5 star was the groundskeepers were actually "in our way" a few times, and we had to hit from tees other than our choice at two holes because the sprinklers were on at our tees (I've experienced these same issues in one of my previous visits). Despite that small issue, I highly recommend Mill Quarter to golfers of all skill levels.
Prince George Golf Course
Played On 3/4/2013Golfing Value
I am amazed at some of the negative reviews I have read for this course. Though the fairways are often sparse and generally a bit hard (no irrigation), the layout is fun and forgiving, the greens are always in good shape and very "puttable," and the price is excellent. Add the staff's freindliness and you have a great place to golf! If you are a high-handicapper, new golfer, or just a weekend golfer looking for a fair course for an exceptional price, try Prince George. If you're looking for pristine fairways and perfect bunkers, open your wallet an try elsewhere.
Jordan Point Country Club
Played On 12/4/2012Good course for all level of golfers.
Jordan Point Golf Club is a challenging but fair course. Well maintained so that even in the late fall you can always find a good spot under winter rules (lift, clean, and place). It also has one of the most scenic finishing holes anywhere. Rick and all the staff are friendly and accommodating whether you're a regular or first-timer. Overall, a great course for a fair price.
