Bonita Fairways
Played On 02/14/2023Good little course with hot deal and extra discount
Lucky to find a hot deal and 20% discount. Only $44 each for 18 holes which is great for SW Florida! Greens ran faster than the other public courses we played - a definite plus. Some greens undergoing a little repair here and there. Traps in good shape. Fairways were generally good shape and firm. Just missed driving a few par 4 greens. Nice layout overall. We liked the front better than back. It’s about 300 yds longer. The 9th and 18th holes over the water were fun! Definite play with in season discount. Would consider at full price $70 if needed public access course in Bonita Springs.
Quail Village Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2023Nice little course from back tees.
Good challenge from back tees. Got to avoid water on a number of holes. I hit it about 200-220 from tee so the blue tee distance was good for me. Overall good conditions and well maintained other than the greens were very slow. Wife and I thought it was a good looking course and value for the area compared to some of the other public tracks. Nice guys working as starters and in bag area.
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 02/02/2023One of few public accessible in Bonita Springs area
Decent track, good value at $109 hot deal for the area compared to the public exec par 3 courses. Pace of play was roughly 4 hours. Didn’t get too backed up until last 2 holes of north course. Watch your distance off of tees - lots of short holes on east course. Should have moved back a set of tees.
The Stadium Course at PGA WEST
Played On 11/16/2022Not open, switched us to Norman
Stadium course was apparently not yet ready to reopen after reseeding. Offered to move us to Norman at same tee time and day. Didn’t realize the Norman fairways were being prepared for overseeding. Scalped the grass, dead brown very short grass left. Very dry fairways. Would have preferred offer of refund over playing a course that should have been closed. At a minimum a discount should have been offered
Mountain View at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 11/12/2022Lush course with great Mountain View’s
My wife and I really enjoyed the Mountain course. We were paired up with 2 younger guys who were a pleasure to play with. The course was in mint condition. Greens slow but that’s understandable after overseeding. The views are awesome, especially on the front 9. Photos don’t do it justice. There was a frost delay in the morning so management knew pace of play would be slow. They proactively gave a discount at check in. Class act. We teed off at 1pm and had 4 holes left at 4:30. Fortunately the group ahead quit and we were able to quickly play the last 4 holes and finish a little after 5pm.
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 11/29/2021Worth the cost with Hot deal
in good shape but greens a bit slow. No real amenities post golf. Great speed of play on a Monday late morning Get a hot deal and play it. A few holes are really nice looking out over lake from elevated greens.
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 11/29/2021Worth playing if you get a deal.
Picked up a gollfnow hot deal and extra Thanksgiving discount. $100 for the round with fees. Nice course that was worth the discounted fee, Tees and fairways generally in great condition - greens were slow. Was not crowded at all. Played 18 as a threesome in 3 hrs 30 minutes. A few really beautiful views from elevated greens near the lakes. Some construction around the last few holes. No real amenities other than pro shop. The grill was not open and no view anyhow. Played here then headed over to the Boathouse at nearby Disney Springs for drinks and dinner.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 11/26/2021Great track and conditions for the price
Booked 2 family tee times direct with pro shop. Jerry said the conditions were great and we would be happy - he was right! Interesting but fair layout. Paid regular morning fee of $59 and we were all happy - from the 2x weekly player to the nephew that hadn’t played in 10 years. Will play again when in the area.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/10/2021Good condition but crazy greens
Staff ok but not overly friendly or informative. Front side better looking than back side near the roadway. Overall conditions good. Firm dry fairways and greens. However, most pin placements and greens feel unfair. 3 singles in my group and I doubt anyone will run back to play Singles Creek again
Falls Village Golf Course
Played On 12/10/2020Four star for value
Paid a bit over $20 with discounted round from Tee Off but only $30 anyhow in the weekday afternoon (with shared cart). This course is a great layout. Tight fairways but fair. Rolling terrain. Greens are new champion Bermuda and unexpectedly awesome. Traps are unplayable. Filled with dirty water. Could lose a ball in them easily. At least put drains in your bunkers! Teeboxes as expected for public course. Nice that they overseed fairways with rye grass. Not all public or private courses do that. With new houses going in nearby hopefully will invest more and bring this track up to its potential. 4 star rating is driven great price for this tracks layout and greens. Oh and Bob the starter was awesome. Got us out within 10 minutes of our tee time despite frost delay that morning. Photo of 18th green at sunset.
Black Horse at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2017Tougher than the course rating and slope
For challenging public course at GolfNow prepaid rate ($62) it was an excellent deal. Some teeboxes were in bad condition, but greens and Fairways nice. Greens are very tough... had lots of 3 putts and a four putt in the group. Slope from the whites must be based on the distance rather than bunkers, wind and tough pin placements. Would play again and will play Bayonet as well.
Poppy Hills Golf Course
Played On 04/19/2017Add Poppy to your Pebble Beach Trip!
Great track through the forest with some views of the bay. Conditions were excellent. We played Pebble Beach the day prior, this is an entirely different challenge. Firm fast greens - gotta place your approach shots. Walked at Pebble, took cart here. Glad we did as it is a hilly course. Downside is it is cart path always, all the time. Thought the snack bar prices were high, but we more than made up with GolfNow discount on greens fee. Nice guy working pro shop.
Pebble Beach Golf Links™
Played On 04/18/2017Awesome bucket list day! One improvement requested.
When the rains stop and the sun comes out just before your tee time you know you are blessed. The TV cameras can not reflect the real topography of this course. Simply amazing. Had a couple of birdies that I will cherish! Hubert in the pro shop is super nice. The price is the price - a lot to play for golf and when you add caddy, tip and cart it's way up there, but we agreed the experience was worth the cost. Only improvement is too keep people off the cart path along the right of hole #18. While preparing for approach shot, had a woman come up to me and ask to borrow a club for a photo! Course grounds should be off limits for tourists even if "public" course.
The Amelia River Club
Played On 09/15/2014Nice Track, Great Value except for range balls
Picked up an excellent deal on GolfNow to play for $80 for two with taxes and fees. Greens and fairways in good shape. Could tell they were punched recently but still rolled well. Nice track, challenging but doesn't beat you up, my wife and I really enjoyed it. We completed our round in under 3.5 hours despite waiting on most holes. Only negative was when I looked at my receipt and found I was charged $9.35 for a mid size bag of range balls. Thats excessive! Look for a few leftover balls on the range if you go there to play.
