Vidanta Vallarta Course at Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta
Played On 04/04/2024Luxury within PV
It was pleasing and exciting to see this amazing world being developed within Puerto Vallarta. Picture Disney World Resort 2.0. Me and my family can’t wait to see how the development escalates in the next 5-10 years.
If staying off-property, arrive for your tee time at least 45 minutes ahead. Your drop-off at security check-in will be about a 10 minute cart ride away from the golf shop. The golf shop is a few minute cart ride away from the driving range. The driving range is a few minute cart ride away from the first Tee-box. Caddies are required and needed, just for getting around and to the next tee box.
Between nature, and what is being developed around you, there is always a cool view.
Golf course conditions are good to great, however, we played the day after verticut and top dressed (sand) greens. Many courses in PV were doing the same maintenance in the same week, but none of them told us upon booking. The greens still played well and rolled about 90% accurate. Just a bit slower.
Shadow Hills Golf Club - North Par-3 Course

Course is great. Starter was great. I was first out at 7:50 am and flew around in 2 hours.
Only downer was I couldn’t get a coffee, drink or snack at 7:45am. Nothing was open.
Thanks fully the starter gave me one of his personal bottles of water as it was going to hit 90 degrees.
Greens were smooth but a bit slower than my eyes predicted. Maybe a 9-9.5. Don’t play as much break as you see. Many putts are straight.

Yes, you get what you pay for. Not complaining, just creating awareness for other golfers and hopefully management reads this:
Had we had known a junior event locked up the course for the afternoon, we probably wouldnt have played. We arrive 10 minutes early for our 5:00pm tee time and had to wait 20 minutes for one golf cart oand become available, due to the kids event. Their marshals and parents had many extra carts. Golfers were sitting in the parking lot in their carts just talking, but didn’t turn in their carts. Some groups on the course had 3 to 4 carts. There was no one monitoring or helping with the cart situation.
Restaurant and bar were shut down at 4:50pm with at least 150-250 people on the property. And don’t expect this course to have a bev cart.
By the 3rd hole (and on) there were an average of 4 groups on each hole. No marshals. Barely got 9 holes in within 3 hours.
Otherwise, conditions were decent due to recent rains. Greens rolled very well. Conditions were worth the discounted afternoon rate.
Redhawk Golf Club
Played On 03/17/2018Just ok
Decreased fee for aerification. Called the shop and the attendant wasn’t sure what size Tyne they used for aerification and “thought” the greens were recovering quickly and almost fully recovered. Greens were only 50% healed and very bumpy and slow.
Tees were ok. Fairways are very spotty with glimpses of nice grass. Bunkers aren’t groomed. Wouldn’t play there again.

Fairways are superb. Tee boxes are good for the most part. Greens were fairly smooth, but had a decent amount of traffic on them, before we teed off at 2:30pm. I prepaid online and the shop had my receipt ready and waiting for me. Check-in was a breeze.
