Great experience time and again

Kenny Perry’s Country Creek is one of my favorite courses. I may be partial since it was the first course I was a member at when I was learning, but the staff is friendly every single time you go, without exception. The greens are consistently pure, and the layout provides a fun challenge for golfers of all abilities. Where else can you go and have a former top 10 player in the world and a Ryder Cup champ play behind you for 12 holes? (I’m talking about Kenny himself.) Keep your eyes peeled for a guy in a red cart, it could be the man, the myth, the legend.

Only worth the hot deal

The Legacy is one of the closest courses to my house, but time and again the lack of hospitality from the staff turns me away. I was a frequent player at this course over the summer, and the head pro was always less than welcoming. The course relies heavily on practice mats for the driving range, which can be overlooked, but not on top of the customer service. The snack bar is closed for winter, so don’t expect to be able to get a snack at the turn, unless you luck out with the small selection in the golf shop. Unfortunately, this could be an incredible golf course, and among the elite in Middle Tennessee, but right now it is not.

Hot Deal

If you can get the hot deal, this course is worth the drive. It’s a long way for me but there aren’t many public courses I’ve played in this state that are in better condition tee to green. The greens have been worn down by play, but it’s worth 25 bucks just to hit shots off their fairways and closest mown areas around the greens.
