Chemung Hills Golf Club

The Medalist never disappoints. The layout is unique, reasonably challenging, while also fair. A couple of holes (notable #4) feel somewhat gimmicky, but overall the course is excellent. When we played (6/19/21), the course was in excellent condition and the greens were quick (which I prefer). The course is narrow in several placed, so control over aim and distance is paramount. To borrow an overused phrase, The Medalist has an Up North feel to it (tree lined, most holes stand apart from the others) and has some trick green complexes. The icing on top was that we played in 4 hours!!
The East at Forest Akers Golf Course

Hard to beat the price for the quality and conditions. Fairly open, but, still rewards accuracy. Greens were immaculate, except for all of the unrepaired ball marks.

Timber Trace Golf Club
Played On 06/05/2014a pleasant surprise
A nice track. Greens were fast and smooth. Fairways were in excellent shape. The layout is unique and scenic. I particularly like the fact that I'm most holes you could not see any other hole. It reminds me of courses is "Up North". The only critique I have of the course is the sand traps. They are basically dirt and rocks. The facilities leave something to be desired and the course appears to be understaffed on the retail end. Will definitely play again.
Brookshire Inn & Golf Club
Played On 8/4/2013Excellent venue for the price.
Overall, Brookshire was an excellent experience for the price paid on GolfNow. The course was beautifully manicured. The front nine thoughtfully laid out and each hole presents a unique challenge. Golfers that like to shape their shots will love the front. The back nine holes however are so close together that some tees dangerously close to approach shots and number of holes share the same cart path. #17 and #18 are companion par 3s with little differentiation aside from length. The final thing that golfers should no is that they do not appear to have a ranger and the locals appear to do whatever they want. We saw groups of 6 & 8 playing together, and we were held up by a foursome on the final 6 holes by a foursome that appears to be very drunk. They had no one in front of them and failed to let anyone play through.
