short but interesting layout

I'm a single digit handicap, and I have enjoyed the course so much I've been there four times within the past year. I'm used to playing championship courses, including some of the best in the world, but this is a very nice change of pace -- especially if you're not looking to bomb it down every fairway.

The layout is tight and terrific with strategically placed bunkers, water, and trees. A few of the greens are postage stamp size and/or turtle backs -- would be a very stern test of short game if the greenskeeper decided to shave the sides and amp up the stimp (the greens are a bit on the slow side).

Only disappointment was the overly-zealous ranger who hounded me and my two little boys for being 10 minutes behind pace. Perhaps there was some "ageism" at play (ironic for a retirement haven like SW Florida), but the fact is that we were in position the entire round. Indeed, at the time the ranger waved me over to look at his watch, we were on a par 3 tee box ready to hit with the group in front of us literally walking off the green.

Friday the greens were snail paced and the holes had not been changed for days ... love the course and have played it a lot ... but Friday 4/15/16 was not worth the money.
