Course is awesome …Pro shop demeanor—below par

I played the course 3 times in 3 days—so this review comes with a solid perspective. If anyone wants to putt on first class greens both courses will make you very happy. Homes around the courses don’t really come into play so no need to panic. The locals were very friendly that I played with on the pines course Saturday . Had a great round with them helping me around the course. First and last day played as a single …not a problem unless you run into a 5 some of privileged golfers. I’ve played all over the world and to see seniors not picking up trash or repairing marks in fairways and greens was disheartening—-that none of my business but nevertheless it was bothersome for such a nice place. Now the negative. I played one round for regular fee, two rounds using GolfNow. I was definitely treated differently when using GolfNow. The check in process was no where near as friendly nor professional as when I paid full price. both times using golf now there was no getting keys then not being told the range was closed but still paying at check in for balls was uncomfortable. I also had the privilege to be checked on by the starter as a single and being congratulated that I was keeping pace with the threesomes in front of me. I’m a 7 handicap but was made to feel like I didn’t know how to play. That’s ok I enjoyed the starter watching me hit shots…lol. I didn’t see a starter on Saturday or Sunday. The pine course was closed so maybe guys needed something to do. I would play the courses again but would figure out a way to stay out of the pro shop with a golf now purchase. There was definitely a different and unwelcome vibe.
So you know I have taught public school for 34 year and I know people. The golfers once again were nice even though I couldn’t play through which is their choice. The pro shop needs adjusting if there is a stigma using Golf Now.

Golf Now = 3rd class treatment at this course

Pro shop needs a little help in courtesy and management. Saturday mornings are busy so I arrived as a single 40mins early. Hit some balls and some putts before playing were my hopes. I was told 3 others checked in together and they were supposed to come back for me but the office staff didn’t know who they were or where they were. I was to told to carry my bag from the lot to the first tee. Which is quite a walk especially with a cart bag. I get not wanting to give me a cart—I didn’t even ask for one to avoid any further grief. it’s a busy time but to be treated so rudely ESPN when wearing pants, a collared shirt and shined golf shoes goes against the atmosphere of class we all expect from any golf course. Putts rolled good but the tone they set on my Saturday morning should NEVER be acceptable.
I deserve better and so does the game I love to play.

Special

Ok so I just finished a round at Chimera golf club….rained, above and beyond wind conditions(30+) and a little hail and STILL HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF PLAYING A DREAM COURSE….I have played all over the country and even internationally. This place is special. I’ve never had a course say welcome home to me while engaged with it…this place allows a bad golfer to think they can play and a good golfer to play a dream round…..any person that walks in to the pro shop and has a thing negative to say should be tied up and placed on the driving range….FOR ALL TO HIT AT! I’m just saying once again this place is special!!!!

Bring your big boy pants!

I was tremendously impressed with the course condition because of all of the rain. I was even more impressed with the way the course played. It could wear you out both physically and mentally and that is not a bad thing.
Since it was my first time playing the course and from the tips I was a glutton for punishment. When you feel like you just played a PGA event that says a lot about the thought and performance needed to survive the round. The course would be a joy for those that would like to test themselves. 1st class—find a round on Golf now and book it. be prepared to be tired and satisfied with how the course will humble you. Its as close to the big time as you can get when it comes to plotting your way through a round. Kudos!!!

Great price BUT....

I’m all for people learning how to golf but the foursome in front of us was not only the worst with time management but just didn’t get the concept of golf etiquette. 18 minutes to play on a hole in 95 degree weather is a bit much to take. I know the course doesn’t know ability of golfers and everyone has the right to play but the rangers could have moved them along. So disappointing to waste a lot of time waiting on rude people.
