Indian Springs Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2022Shadow Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/17/2022Relatively moderate if stayed away from the lakes
The starter was friendly and indicated where the 1st hole was. A few lakes on the first few holes and on the final four holes, but they were avoidable.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 01/19/2022The course is laid out with three separate nine holes
The course is not as good as it was eight years ago. The bunkers are better than most other public courses, but the fairways do need some better servicing. The greens are overall faster than other clubs, but there seems to be a lack of consistency between greens on different holes.
There are no free water facilities for golfers. Other courses have these fee water facilities with containers, lids and straws. Indian Palms does not and they cannot use Covid as an excuse for not providing them.
Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 01/17/2022The course is well laid out
Started on the 10th hole which may have been a blessing because by the time we played the first hole, the delay had dissipated. Bunkers are basically hard baked mud with a sprinkling of sand on top.
Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
Played On 01/11/2022Well kept fairways and greens
For a course amongst rolling desert landscapes the fairways were immaculate. The greens were tough with Bermuda style grass. The views of distant mountains was spectacular. Walking from the golf cart to the greens might be considered strenuous for unfit golfers.
There was some construction on the back nine where it was difficult to locate the 14th tee box as well as the 15th tee box due to missing locater stones . Apart from that now knowing the course Ii would play it again.
Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 12/13/2021Renewing golf play
Golf was slow. Complaints to the golf marshall moved the foursome in front along faster they were very slow on the greens. Bunkers were hard baked sand.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 12/03/2021An afternoon exercise playing two sets of nine holes.
I was a single player. Was okay for about four holes until I caught up to a foursome----they were slow and on the ninth hole they spent 12 minutes looking for a ball. I eventually finished the first nine.
On the second nine four ladies were on the first tee. I asked to go through and started on the second hole where a couple allowed me to go through.. By the fifth hole I came up behind another slow foursome. Eventually the couple caught up and we finished the last two holes together. It was an enjoyable end with stimulating chit-chat.
Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 12/05/2019Very pleasant
We got held up by a foursome in front for every shot, but I suspect they had the same problem as well.
Probably took just over 4 hours.
Bunker sand was a bit hard. With no lips it was easier to use the putter to roll it out.
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 03/19/2018Dry Fairways and fast greens
An interesting course for first-time players. Rolling fairways with lots of hard ground side hill play. If it wasn't for the fact that we were playing with a couple who knew the course, many greens were located at the end of dog-legs. The bunkers were hard-baked mud hollows which was surprising,
since there was plenty of sand in the adjacent desert. The greens were fast.
The paper golf card did not display a course map, hence one couple playing the ninth would have ended up on the eighteenth green had we not advised them. Great views of the San Jacinto mountains.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 12/14/2017Dry Fairways and fast greens
Friendly staff loaded my clubs into the Power cart.
Some acceptable instructions regarding the
course. We played Indian and basically had the nine
holes to ourselves. We caught up to a foursome on
Mountain, for the back nine, but the wait time was only a few minutes.
Great mountain views of the Santa Rosas.
Water was not readily available on the course, but Gatorade can be purchased from the golf shop at
reasonable prices.
Tall Timber Golf Course
Played On 05/26/2017Conditions
Since playing the course three years ago, the
conditions are now much worse.
The grass on the tee boxes needs to be cut.
There is a perfectly good tee box on the 12th hole, but the course management continues to use the winter mat. The fairways are undulating with lots of potholes. It is a wonder I didn't twist an ankle.
Cut grass is not removed and hides the golf balls.
Bull rushes growing beside the small creeks need to be removed. The course is basically a cow pasture.
Shadow Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/21/2017Pleasant afternoon of golf
Apart from the other couple who didn't know the new
rules about greens and flag-sticks, it was an enjoyable day.
Guildford Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/09/2015The course has many challenges
With the lack of rain over the past three months long hole fairways are rock hard. On some tee boxes it is difficult to get the tee in the ground and they generally break in half after the tee shot. The course management needs to water the fairways to soften up the ground. Water comes in to play on 14 holes.
Ponds can be avoided with the exception of the short 16th, but the creek has to crossed on 7 of the holes, which is okay for long hitters but can be a problem for senior golfers which may involve lay-ups. Greens are relatively large and rolling.
Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
Played On 04/24/2014Good value
I arranged the round through Golf Now at a cost of $20 for a tee-off time of approx. 1pm. Giving myself an hour of driving from La Quinta I arrived 30 minutes early so played on my own starting on the 10th tee.
Nobody in front and nobody behind--very enjoyable.
Open fairways and easy rolling greens. Great views across the Coachella valley to the Santa Rosa mountains.
It was hot however, over 100F, very little shade but starting with plenty of water and the ice box supplied, thirst was not a problem.
Did check out the club-house afterwards---a good sized restaurant and bar.
SilverRock Resort
Played On 04/22/2014A relatively tough course for high handicaps
For the first four holes the bunkers provided the main difficulty. After that the fairways opened up to rolling greens. Unfortunately for a first time player there were many blind holes and dog-legs and one was never really sure where to play the ball without landing in the waste areas.
The back nine was much easier to play than the front nine.
Mountain Vista Golf Club - San Gorgonio Course
Played On 11/23/2013The course was in good condition
Having just been re-seeded the course was in good condition
There were virtually no golfers on the course because of the CART PATH only rule. Which gave me some exercise and plenty of putting practice on many of the greens.
The fairways were wideopen with bunkers and ponds posing no difficulty at all.
Woodhaven Country Club
Played On 11/6/2013Very rewarding
Some fairways might be considered tight for wayward golf balls, but if you hit straight there is no difficulty. The greens are the best I have played on for green fees under $50. The ground staff have done a good job in preparation for the season.
Cathedral Canyon Golf Club
Played On 10/14/2013For $29 you get what you pay for
Shaded fairways were okay, however having to continually walk to the ball and leaving the cart on the pathway was extremely irritating. Carrying two or three clubs was not always the right solution. It really slowed down the round of golf.
Greens were bumpy with ridges and extremely slow.
There was no draught beer in the clubhouse.
Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - North/South
Played On 10/12/2013Would not recommend it
Tee-off time was !2.07pm. They had a shotgun tournament in the morning. We finally teed-off around 1pm and were held up
every hole. The tee boxes were poorly grassed.
I thought the pond on the 18th hole prior to the green was a stupid location. Big hitters would not have a problem, but high handicappers and ladies would lose their balls.
The bar was closed when we finished, because it was 5.30pm when we ended the round.
Indian Springs Golf Club
Played On 5/8/2013Wide fairways with minimal water hazards, large greens.
As a single I played the course with a friendly couple from the LA area. The course had wide fairways with the odd lake here and there. If you kept your shots fairly straight, water was not a problem. Two holes had narrow streams in front of the greens and one par 3 with a lake to play over. The sand in the bunkers was somewhat course, but that is typical of some other golf courses in this area. All in all it was a pretty good course and much easier than some of the other courses i have played around here. I would definitely play the course again.
