The course was in good shape but the greens were definitely in need of love. They were not consistent and multiple greens had dirt patches. Preserve usually has excellent greens but they are not up to par with others in the area.
Crossings at Grove Park, The
Played On 04/09/2017Overall good, greens need love
Overall it was a good golf experience. The course layout is solid though plays a bit short. The only criticism that I would have is that the greens were quite patchy in some places even though they've been aerated recently. These are not the fastest greens you will play but they were rolling fairly. Good value for the money. Not having a driving range to warmup also hurts.
Edgebrook Golf Course
Played On 05/11/2015Not a real golf course
This is a poor attempt for a 'golf course'. It is scattered with holes for footgolf, frisbee golf and no real tee boxes. There are mats to hit off of, half of which don't allow a tee for use with a driver. There is almost no flat area around the 'tee boxes' to allow you to tee up on the side and hit from there.
The only good thing about the course was the greens were in pretty good shape, real slow, but not torn up.
We apologize that your experience was not as enjoyable as you expected while you were at Edgebrook. We do our best to communicate with guests about our unique Footgolf and disc golf course layout. Due to our course infrastructure, we have mats in place on some tee boxes to combat certain course conditions. We are happy to hear the greens were in good shape for your round, as our agronomic team worked hard over the winter to ensure their condition for this season. We hope you will come back to play again soon!
Port at Harborside International Golf Center
Played On 04/19/2015Tough course close to the city
I've played this course multiple times now and understand why it is so pricey with its proximity to the city, however, with aerated greens on my last visit - it wasn't worth it to me.
The course was in overall good shape after the winter and was pretty full. With tee times every 10mins, it did backup and we were waiting on the tee box almost every hole.
Lost Marsh Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2014Good course - not worth the money
This was about the 4th time I played the course. The staff and clubhouse are excellent. The price is a bit high for similar courses. The greens still had some issues across the course. The rough in on the course is almost too thick to enjoy yourself as any ball that misses the fairway can be near impossible to find. I would play here again, but it would have to be at a cheaper price.
Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club
Played On 05/18/2014Poorly managed
I booked this course online and showed up as a single to play on a beautiful Saturday late afternoon. Given the weather I assumed I would be paired up and was told in the proshop that I would be. I waited on the tee as a group went off and was told to wait, and then was told to go off on my own to which I was surpirsed, but not at all opposed to.
The 4some in front of me did not let me through and I was waiting 10-15mins between shots. When the marshall came around, I asked him if he could tell the group in front to let me play through, and he said he couldn't do that and to skip a hole and just pass them. I wanted to play a full 18, so I waited another couple holes to see if they would let me through and they didn't, so I did eventually pass them and was behind another 3some who also did not let me through. I asked another marshall if I could be paired up with them or if I could be let through and he also denied me being able to do that. Eventually, I gave up and did not want to play another 9 holes (which I paid for) waiting 95% of the time.
I went to the proshop and asked if I could just go use the range instead of play the back 9 and they said that I would still have to pay for range tokens at the range and would not refund even a dollar of my round.
The course was in fair condition, many of the greens still had dirt patches where the grass had been cut too low or had not grown in well yet. The tee boxes and fairways were in great condition though.
Poor service and planning will be keeping me away from this course.
