Course is coming along well.....

This was my first time back since all of the renovations started in the Fall/Winter of 2015 and I must say they are making a lot of progress! Seeing the sprinkler system come on was great, the bunkers have nice soft white sand now, the brush area behind hole 9 was removed just dirt now but was told it will be flowers and shrubs, a lot of trees were removed from hole 18 which makes it look really nice. The greens and fairways were in nice shape. They are installing new cart paths. Once the construction is complete it would be a 5 star course. There was one temporary green.

Nice little course

This was my second time playing Ingleside, first time was back in 2011. The weather was nice, 60 degrees to start, mid 50's to end and cloudy. This was my first time out this year and the course was good for the first one, short at 5100 yards but still a challenge. Being is is early March the grass has not started to grow, so it will just get better in a month or so, was still in good condition. Paid $18 with Golf Now, worth it for sure.

Miles of cart paths and sever dogleg holes

The staff is very friendly. You drop your clubs in front of the clubhouse and they bring them around back, I personally do not like that as I am protective of my clubs, I do not like leaving them anywhere that I cannot see them, don't want anything stolen.

The practice facility is really nice, and it is free with a round of golf.

The course itself was in nice shape after not having any rain for weeks, few dry spots here and there but the fairways and greens were in great shape, even the first cut of rough was excellent.

The layout is not great, you could never walk the course. The distance from one hole to the next is way too long. It felt like I was driving the cart forever, and many times you would backtrack after getting to the hole to get to the next one or the fairway. Overall, too much cartpath.

I also found there were a lot of doglegs, which is ok, but these were severe, a lot of shots were blind and in hopes of finding fairway in the direction of the green. Lots of trees and water come into play, if you miss your tee shot you will lose a ball. I took a lot of drops, way more than I ever have before. The only somewhat saving grace was the GPS in the cart, it helped on the tougher holes. We played the black tees, 6467 yards, only one short par 3, 150 yards or so, all of the other were 185 or more.

Overall it was ok, I had a comp from my play at Delaware Park, that helped on the end since it was free.

The other aspect I did not like was not having a half way house after hole 9, they have a beverage cart running the course, but I do like that halfway feeling seeing the clubhouse and being able to walk in and get something quick to eat.

As of now I am not sure I would play it again, mainly due to the cart paths being way too long.

We hear your Rob! Thanks so much for writing a review and posting your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the majority of your experience, although, yes the course is sometimes long and the doglegs add an extra challenge to which GPS may come in handy on those blind shots. We appreciate your business and hope to see you on your next visit soon!

Course has come a long way.....

I played this course about 7-8 years ago before it was bought out by Billy Casper Golf and the course was in need of a lot of repairs. I was hesitant on playing today but was very surprised how the course has been improved. A lot of work has been done, fairways were nice, had nice first and second cuts of rough. Sand traps were a little dry but not dirt like the first time. Tee boxes were in nice shape, all have grass and no dry dead spots. Greens were nice and challenging.

Overall I was impressed and will play again.
