Braemar Country Club - Masters Course
Played On 06/22/2015Muni-course that is Private
The only thing good about this course is that it is private and the pace of play is good and the greens are in decent condition. But the layout and the lack of GPS for the course leave too many blind-shots and leaves too much to the imagination. I would not be a paying member for this country club (at least from strictly a golfing vantage point). Overall facility is again like a muni course which just happens to be private. Next....
Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms Resort - Zaharias Course
Played On 06/18/2015Decent course
I used to play here back in the 1990's when it was a 1000 times harder than it is today (i.e., the courses here went through major renovation and got rid of all that CRAZY rough) but now it is a fairly fun course with overall decent conditions. If you are a singles handicap player then this course is fair and fun (from the tips).
Wilson at Griffith Park Golf Courses
Played On 03/27/2015Good layout but horrible conditions
Only decent thing I can say is the greens on the Wilson course were acceptable given this course is a muni-course. The main reason I gave this course (which I grew up playing over 30 years ago) a low rating was because the people that play here are all beginners or hacks with absolutely zero golf etiquette. So in fairness this is a good track but conditions are not suitable for the advanced level golfer UNLESS you tee off before 7:00 am when the players seem to be a little more serious and quicker in pace of play.
Angeles National Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2015One of my local favorite courses
We started playing in my regular 4-some on Friday at 12:10...(we normally play early Saturday mornings here) and the pace of play was good considering a lot of singles and moderate level players were out there on the course at this time of day.
