Great course, horrible staff

Unfortunately I will never golf this course again because of the way my wife and I were treated buy the guy in the pro shop. I say unfortunately because it was a great course. Each hole is very different and very memorable. Many elevation changes, water on many holes. Beautiful views. Sand traps were in great shape. Greens were good too. The fairways were in rough shape, but so are most in NB this year due to the lack of rain. When we checked in we were told, pretty rudely that we couldn't be trusted to take our cart to our vehicle to load clubs. If that's the course policy fine, but don't tell me I can't be trusted to drive a golf cart. Then, after paying we were told we were paired up with another pair of golfers. Which is also fine, but my wife is new to the game and is uncomfortable playing with people she doesn't know. She said she would rather not play. He rudely told me I should have known I was paired up when I booked online. I told him that The Chrono golf app only showed available tee times, not how many spots each tee time had. He argued with me that it does (I tried it again, it does not). He then started slamming things around, huffing and puffing, and treated us very poorly for the next 5 minutes. I believe the starter felt bad and tried to make up for it, but it was too little too late. I will never be back.

Nice manufactured course

For a course named after a tree, I was surprised there was not one tree on the entire course. A very nice clubhouse and set up when you begin. Practice green and driving range right next to the starter on 1. Huge clubhouse, nice drive up canteen. This might be my bias, but I prefer courses that are carved out of the natural landscape to courses a that are built from scratch. This is a manufactured course, built to support the many homes and condos built along its fairways. The holes are generally forgettable. The greens were in decent shape, but the dry NB summer has been hard on the fairways (however, this is true for all of NB this year). The cart paths, and all the little things are done very well. Lots of water and fairway bunkers in landing areas. I am very glad I did not pay full price, but I am glad I played it. I would recommend trying it at least once.

Decent, but too slow

A decent track, but not up to the caliber of surrounding courses. It was extremely busy. We waited on every shot. On the first par five we got to we waited for the group on the tee, who were waiting for the group in the landing area, who were waiting for the group in the second landing area, who were waiting for the group on the green. That's right, 5 groups on one hole. The fairways were in rough shape, but to be fair so are the rest of the courses in this very dry NB summer. The greens are okay. Small. The front nine is on top of one another. The back nine is definitely better. There were a couple of memorable holes on the back. I will not play it again as there are too many other options in the area.

Beauty

A beauty, links style course in the Capitol city of New Brunswick. The rough will eat your ball. The fairways are generous though, and they're like hitting off a carpet. The holes are beautifully built with a nice waterfall on the signature hole. A beautiful facility with lots to do. Can't wait to go back.
