Oldsnowbirds

Having played this course several times, this is the first time that the pace of play was horrible. We finished our round about 40 minutes behind the pace which was a result of the foursome. One guy took a total of 13 practice swings and also did some warm up drills before finally hitting the ball on the 12 tee. I would have thought that after playing 11 holes he would have been warmed up. Where was the marshal? I find out later he left early.
This is my only complaint for this round as everything else was great.

First time playing this course. Tee boxes and fairways were in outstanding condition.Greens were also in great condition although very fast compared to what we are used to back in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. For a course in this good of condition, I was surprised that the sand traps had less that average sand/gravel in them. Our only compliant.

Our only complaint was with the sand traps. All 4 of us made a few trips into the bunkers and found that most had some rocks in them larger than golf balls. Come on, guys. Cleaning up your traps. It's hard enough to get out of them . But possible club damage???

We golfed with a couple from Alberta and had a very pleasant day on the course. Fairways in great shape but some of the greens were starting to show some brown. The distance from the ninth to tenth tees and from 16 green to 17 tee was quite the distance for someone walking. Overall, a very pleasant day of golf.

Nice course layout but due to the crazy amount of rain in September, course was quite wet.

The restaurant was great. Our meal was enough for 4 people. Awesome facility. Pro shop well stalked but over priced as usual. Staff was excellent. The fairways were awesome but the greens were rock hard, we couldn’t hold any of our approach shots. We found it odd that we couldn’t wash our golf balls at any of the holes or on the carts and there were no garbage cans that we could see. For the price charged, quite disappointed.

First time playing this course for my wife and I. Starting with the tee boxes, fabulous condition, as were the fairways and greens. I have always considered myself a fairly good putter but these greens brought me to my knees. Fast and lots of breaking. Definitely a challenge and will be loking forwars to the next time we play this course.

Like most of the courses that my wife and I have played since coming to the Phoenix area, it was in great condition from tee to green. The only thing was the pace of play. The foursome in front of us was fairly slow and we seemed to wait on a lot of shots. We will play it again though.

This is the fourth or five time my wife and I have played Kokopelli. We are from Winnipeg, Manitoba and look forward to playing this course each winter we come to the Phoenix area. The pace of play was a little bit slower than usual. The greens were very fast but it excellent condition. I found it quite challenging as I couldn't keep my ball on the fairway. To the staff, great job. Totally enjoyed our day.

For what we paid, we expected much more.. When we reviewed this course through Golfnow, there were very few pictures of the golf course itself compared to all the pictures of the resort, restaurant etc. While playing the course, I commented to my wife that I could see why. We were not totally impressed with the overall condition. With the big emphasis on pace of play, why do courses allow twosome to play by themselves? We were paired up with a single golfer and had an enjoyable round with him. As a result of the twosome in front of us, the pace of play was horrible. We waited on a lot of our shots, particularly on the tees. Also, why do the cart girls serve the golfers their beverages right beside the greens? As a result of this, we had to wait until they were finished while a foursome were coming off the green behind us. I even had had to ask her to move the cart as it was between my ball and the green. Not impressed.

The new course layout was excellent. Totally different from the last time we played in 01/15.
Although the grass around the greens was somewhat long, it proved to be a challenge. The greens were quite fast and I don't think there were any level areas of the greens.A couple of the greens were a little unfair as far as sloping was concerned. The shared green on 13 & 14 with the sand trap in the middle of the green was very unique. We came to work on our short game and definitely had some challenges. Would definitely would play again and recommend it to anyone.
