St. James Bay Golf Club

Great layout. Rewards accuracy, not distance. GPS helps you "think" your way around the course, would be very difficult without it. Beautiful lots with a lot of potential for RE investors!!!
Tired Creek Golf Course

Rewards the long ball. Similar to Seminole. Back to back par fives are cool. They have paid a lot of attention to the greens, and I hope they keep it up. Tally residents: Tired of five hour rounds? This is the place for you. Jonas is an asset. Never let him go!
New carts!!
Hyde Park Golf Club
Played On 06/10/2014BRING IT IN
I was visiting Jacksonville and was fortunate to have time to for eighteen holes. There was a 5:06 tee time available at Hyde Park, so a coworker and I reserved it. When we arrived scatter showers were all around the course and the guy at the register pointed out that there are no rain checks. We took a chance and were rewarded as the rain passed us by.
There were few other golfers so we quickly made our way around the course. It was a perfect afternoon until we walked off the thirteenth green. A seasoned gentleman (with Miller Lite in hand) drove his cart up to us and said, “I need you guys to take in.” I looked at my phone and it was twenty minutes after seven, the sun sets at eight thirty. So I asked, “Why?” He gave me an angry look and said, “Cause I been here since eight o'clock this morning, and I am ready to go.” I told him we paid for eighteen holes and clearly had time to finish. He explained that we could come back the following day and see about getting reimbursed. Then he said, “Bring it in,” and drove off.
We did not feel that this was fair, especially after being reminded at check in that there would be no rain checks. So we continued playing, even as Miller Lite Man yelled at us from the cart barn near the fourteenth fairway. My coworker has a very short fuse, so I apologize to Miller Lite Man for any obscenities that may have been yelled back at him. We played the remaining holes in a less relaxed mood, and turned the cart in ten minutes after eight. We were only two players, but eighteen holes in three hours does not seem to me an unreasonable pace.
I have never commented on a golf course before, and I do it now hoping to keep others from having a good afternoon spoiled by an encounter with this unhappy employee. I feel sorry for anyone who must work long hours, but Miller Lite Man should take the subject up with his employer, not paying customers. I like Hyde Park and this will stop me from coming back, but please do not offer late afternoon tee times if the staff is not willing to honor them.
