The Links At Spring Church
Played On 05/11/2019Was one of my favorites...
This used to be one of my favorite locale tracks. Me and my buddy went out in the afternoon and got stuck behind a foursome and threesome that had no desire in letting us play through. No ranger anywhere on the course. To make matters worse the teeing areas and greens were in very poor shape. Hole 5 green had a temporary green that we were not notified about that was basically fairway length and unputtable. The rest of the greens had some degree of patchiness to them that would make putting a guessing game. Greens fees were only $31 but even that seemed to be overpriced for the conditions. Hopefully they can get their greens back in order and it’d be nice if a ranger were out (but I understand it was the afternoon). It was just frustrating since it was a course I enjoyed frequenting but will probably stay away for the better part of this year unless I hear it turns around.

We arrived 10 minutes before our time but all the staff were welcoming and friendly. My father and I played and they had tees that made it enjoyable for both of our skill levels. Greens were in immaculate shape but fairways and tees had been aerrated recently but it didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the round. We played in 3 and a half hours. It isn’t a bang your driver course and the starter will remind you of that but if you are ok with that it’s a fun layout that can challenge everyone regardless of skill level... oh btw they had some tunes playing on the range which I wish we could’ve gotten there earlier and enjoyed! Must play for an OBX golfer!
Hiland Golf Course

This is a nice course for someone just learning to play. It's not long and there is little to no water or OB. Greens are average speed but have some nice undulations. Not a bad course but just know what it is. It does have 2 par 3s that are 220+ yards so those are tough.
Hartmann's Deep Valley Golf Course

Let me preface this firstly by saying we haven't had much rain until just in the last week so I didn't expect the course to be pristine. We played in a drizzle to light rain and there was not another soul on the course. When you come here though you do understand that this is at best a 3 star course but we weren't expecting to be putting on shag carpet. It seemed that the greens hadn't been cut in several days to up to a week. It was frustrating to say the least and was not what I remembered from when I last played here several years ago. You would have to hit a putt twice as hard as you would under a normal conditioned green. The fairways were spotty with some burnt out patches and they seemed to be a little longer to as it was difficult to discern where the fairway ended and rough began. It's a shame because I do like the layout but this recent experience will probably keep me and my friends away from this course for the foreseeable future.
Quicksilver Golf Club

This course is a staple for my buddy and me. We usually play it at least once a year due to the excellent greens and the course layout being able to be stretched out 6800 or 7000 yards. Course was a little dry but I don't know of anyone that would be surprised by that. Greens were a little slower than what I usually see at quicksilver but they were still smooth and at a good pace. Love this course and love it even better when I can get it for a steal in golfnow.com!
Ocean City Golf Club - Seaside
Played On 07/30/2015good value
We got this course at a rate of 27.50 per player. Honestly I wouldn't pay more than 30 or 35 for seaside... No water views. Though the bunkers, fairways and greens were nice. Although the greens were a little slow for my liking. To go out and knock the ball around it's not a bad course but I feel there are better options in the OC area.
