Armitage Golf Course
Played On 08/31/2021Aeration Advice
Yes, the pro shop guy was correct; "you should call ahead and ask about aeration". My bad! Their bad, however, when aeration isn't done well. Unfilled holes on the greens and leftover pieces of the plugs are not something you'd expect, much less hear about during a pre-round call. And, only one nine was open. Fortunately my GN credits lowered our investment to a "nine hole" rate. Most definitely, do the aeration. But do it right!

Have not played here in decades, so it seemed like my first time. Lots of "hills" (are you surprised?) and good variety of hole shapes. Though several holes on the South Course border one another, they are lined by very mature trees, so the sightlines are good and become hazards if you don't play the fairway angles properly. Greens were not is top shape (aeration and sand visible but 3-4 weeks old) but when they are it will be a nightmare for ready breaks. NO FLAT ROLLS ANYWHERE, my firends. Local knowledge is key, which we lacked. I'm not sure how you will play this course when the weather is hot and nothing stops. ENJOY!
Convenient and fair
This course is right off Exit 104 of I-95 with at least sice hotels and a great 19th hole. It you can't wait to get to Fl for your first winter round, then this is a good stop over. We got a great rate using GOlfPass rewards and that made it an extreme value. If your are a scratch golfer, this isn't your place Otherwise, you'll have a good day!

We play Armitage 5, 6 times a year and it never gives an inch. Yes, mid-December isn't ideal for PA golf but no one minded the sparce tree cover, slightly choppy fairways or spotty greens. You still had to keep it in play and in position to be able to score. They are doing upgrades (trees, cart paths, tee locations) so it will only get better. Don't need your driver but you need a good short iron game and a hot flat stick. Plus, with GolfNow, we got all this for less than two beers and a dog! What more do you want for your round?
Thank you for visiting us at Par-3 Course at Crosswinds Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
