Fun and Challenging

This is a great golf experience from bag drop to 18th green. All staff is very friendly from bag drop to pro shop to ranger to beverage cart girl running a sandwich from the grill to the back nine for me. There is two great chipping and two great putting greens for warm up or practice. Nice big range. I am now going to come to this course for all my practicing now for sure. The course at McDowell Mountain Golf Club is in great condition and has a great layout. There are many challenging holes with risky shots or you can play it safe. The grass is green and in great condition and the same goes for the greens as well. The roll was true on the greens. Great views of the mountains in the area. There is only water on a few holes on the back nine. I paid $30 to play and this was a great deal. I do wish that range balls were included, cause I do like to hit 15-20 balls before to get warmed up. Overall love the course, great value, and Ill be back soon!!!

Fun course

Fun course to play. Grass was green and well kept. The greens are a little slow but in great condition. I will play this course again for sure. Lots of water and sand traps throughout the course. The only negative thing is the sand traps were had and not true, but this is how 90% of courses in phoenix are.

Its a Beauty!!!

I was in town for the weekend and had to choose one course to play and so happy I choose this course. Beautiful, grass was very green, free range balls, soft and fast greens, beautiful layout with waterfalls on many holes, surrounded by nice homes. I scored cause I got the hot deal of the day on this course and played for $45, I would have been happy to pay the regular price of $90 any day. Challenging with many shot choices on certain holes. I will play again when in vegas!!!

Easy and fun public course

Its a fun course to play if your looking for something cheap and not to challenging. Course is in good shape for what it is. Staff was really friendly and seemed happy to have me play here, which I like, and makes me come back. Price is good. I shot a 76 which is the best I have ever hit but again the course is not hard.

Fun course, good Value

I had a great time here at Desert Springs Golf Course. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The grass on the greens were nice but grass was a little long which made for very slow greens. I liked the layout, good mix of water, and bunkers. I would say for the golfer shooting from 85-par will have a great time playing here and feel good and confident at the end of the day. The one and only complaint was my tee time was 6:22, I walked in to pay at 6:10 and the starter walked in when I was just paying and said that a twosome had teed off already and was finishing on the green and wanted me to rush out tee off and join them and hole 2. I told him I was not teeing off for another 10 min and wanted to stretch and get a drink before I started, and I felt he was rushing me. He tells me hes trying to keep the pace of play moving. This got me a little mad but not going to let it ruin my day cause once I tee off Im happy and not thinking about staff. I did join a twosome a few minutes later and glade I did. This husband and wife couple I joined turned out to be super friendly and had a great time playing with them. We exchanged number and now have new person to play golf with on the weekend. So all is good. I will play here again for sure and looking forward to it. I shot a 82 cause greens were tuff cause so slow. Fun course and great layout with a good price. Go play Desert Springs Golf Course.

Antoher fun course

Great staff, fun course, I would say easy to moderate as for the difficulty. Price was good at $22. I would play this course again. This course is 2 mile off the 60 freeway and country club and easy to find. I shot a 81

Just Ok

Bad time of the yaer for this course. Fairways were n rough shape, greens ok, tee box good. Paid $35 to play. At this point in the year I would say $25 is fair price for this course. It is challenging, and when in good shape this could be 4 stars for me but none off the hole had the wow factor for me. Most of the desert courses in this area of north Scottsdale are super nice and challenging with great conditions. Many courses in the area I would rather play for the money and condition. I would recommend this course more towards the end off the -first of the year when conditions will be better

Rude staff, never again will I play here

I will not play here again. Staff was very rude. This was the case the last time I played here as well. I think there is a lack of training and these people working here let there emotions and personal feelings get in the way of there job and how they treat the customers. Very unprofessional staff. Course was ok but the Palmer course is my personal favorite of the two. There are to many great courses with super friendly staff in the Phoenix area, so I wont be back. The staff needs to take a lesson from the people at Talking Stick. They know how to treat customers. I gave two stars cause the course itself was good but staff ruined it for me.

great course

This course is in great condition. The fairway grass was so nice I didn't want to step on it. There is only a handful of courses that have grass like this, which is expected for a Troon course. Everyone working here is super friendly from the golf club drop off to the pro shop to the ranger to the guy who cleaned my clubs at the end of the round. I like this course so much I will be back to play many times over. The pro shop guy and girl hooked me up with a troon card which is a cool thing. After you spend $500 you get a free round at any Troon course.

Nothing special about this course. There are so many great courses in this area that this would be my last choice to play. All other courses would have to be booked up. The fairways had lots of bad spots but the greens rolled good. Staff was nice but I never saw them on the course. I paid $25 and I would not pay any more than that for this course. That's it just ok

Most beatiful course ever, bring your camera

My title says it all. The course has a great layout fun and challenging holes. Lots of wildlife to see and of course the unreal, beautiful Red Rocks that surround the entire course. Bring the camera cause you will want to snap a few pics. I had to wait and scare off about 12-15 wild boar eating grass around the Tee box at hole #2. Perfect condition, tee box, fairways, and greens. The price I paid was $60 and I would pay it again. All I could say when I steeped on every tee box was WoW. Im glade I was able to play here Thanks to my girlfriend who paid for me to play for a gift for my birthday when we stayed at the unbelievable Enchantment resort in Sedona tow miles from the course. Ill be back for my bachelor party to teeit up with my best men. Cant wait!!!

Great Course

I played Wildfire Palmer and this course was in great condition. I live close and Im looking forward to playing this course again soon. Greens were beautiful. I like that this course and some others have range balls for you already out there so you can warm up. I don't want to pay for a bucket cause I don't hit that many practice balls before I play, but just a few to warm up is what I like.
