Nice course, not for beginners

The Crossings is a fairly difficult, but beautifully designed course. Demanding off the tee. Can only stray so much, or the thick bermuda rough and impassable natural areas will make life difficult. Overall a good value at $45, as similar quality courses in the area can cost a bit more. Bent grass greens were mostly very nice, quick enough, a few had minor dead spots that affected roll a bit. Very receptive to approach shots. Traps are in OK condition. Tee boxes acceptable. Fairways very nice.

Well-mainained course with 3 9-hole tracks, each with slightly different look and feel.

Aberdeen is a very nice, moderately difficult course and is priced below the Grand Strand courses closer to the shore. Our overall golf experience left much to be desried however. We were not informed of the "cart path only" rule until we had paid and were receiving instructions from the starter. Would have been nice to know. The pace of play was extremely slow on our first nine, but only because of a single group in front of us that never offered to let us play through. We waited on every tee box and every approach while these jokers ran all over the place (cart path only) fetching clubs and raking balls down the fairway. At the turn I asked starter if there was a ranger, and was informed they had no ranger. Will not be going back, and a shame, because I like the course.

Traditional layout, not very long.

RGA is a fun, well-maintained course to play. Small firm greens provide challenges, especially when chipping. Greens are not the fastest in the world, but in good shape and consistent. Fairways are coming in nicely. Some tee boxes were in need of attention. Overall good value and nice course for the price, being so close to downtown Raleigh. My only complaint was slow play. We teed off on time at 9:40 AM on Saturday and finished 5 1/2 hours later. We asked and were told this is not typical, a tournament that AM had crowded the course.

Very challenging course, big premium on driving accuracy, chipping, sand play, putting.

The course is fairly difficult, very important to play the correct tees for your game. Greens are large, undulating and fairly quick. Avoiding 3 putts is an all-day chore. Lots of fairway and greenside bunkers, all well maintained. The variety of the layout is outstanding, no two holes are alike. One of the best courses I have played for the money. I would recommend.
