Always a good game

All three nines are interesting and the course is kept in above average pay as you play condition. There are some hole conflicts between North and South. The staff are possibly the best around and can not do enough for you.

Very good for the occasional or new golfer. Not so much for the low handicapper.

Best course in Canada (IMHO)

I have been a member at Heron Point for 20 years for one simple reason. It is possibly the best layout ,using the natural terrain, there is. The view from No. 8 tee rivals anything out there. Although the course has been modified from it's original design to make it easier for novice or occasional players, it is by no means an easy course.
No 2 holes are alike and it is not a "grip it and rip it" course. If you do that you will have a very long day.
If you find the rough take your medicine and get out to the closest point on the fairway. This is not a modern style course where you can take a 3 metal from 20 feet off the fairway. If you find the fescue, good luck.
The only bad point on the course are the bunkers. Usually hard packed they let the course down.
If you are senior or cannot carry 225 off the tee consider using the green tees on 9 & 18. The carry over the lake is difficult - especially into the wind.

Challenging but fair

Copetown Woods is a course that is always in good to excellent condition. If you play during the week and tee off between 10:00 and 2:00 you will generally finish in 4 hours.

Although not terribly difficult the holes can be challenging if you try to over power them.

Always a favorite but very expensive for non-members

I have always appreciated Jack's design and generally love the course. As a Clublink member I can play for very little cost.
If I were not a member I would not play for the following reasons:
It is definitely not worth the $280 that is currently being charged.
Pace of play is brutal during pay as you play times. It can push 6 hours.
There are tournaments literally every day and they chop the course up.

Thank you for taking time to respond. Yes, Glen Abbey is a very busy golf operation. We're very proud to have it part of ClubLink and pass along savings to our membership. Pace of play can sometimes be affected by hundreds of people, that day, receiving an experience worthy of the great history of the Canadian Open.

Terrible design and virtually no facilities

Mystic is a course that had a good initial idea but then ran out of money. The current owners - Golf North - have not put any money into it since the acquisition and it shows. The "club house" is a trailer.

The course itself is possibly the worst designed course in the area. Many holes have absolutely no visual clues to guide you. The ninth hole is a complete mystery. The tenth is a complete joke with three shots required to reach a position where you can even see the green.

The course condition when we played was a disgrace. Some fairways were as long as the rough and the greens had not been cut in days.

There are many other courses in the area that are superior at better pricing.

They do not allow walking.

Short course in good condition

Tyandaga is a fun municipal course to play once or twice a year. Quite short but has challenging drives and approaches. Number 2 has one of the hardest 2nd shots in golf - the green slopes severely left and is hard as concrete.

Pace of play is normally very, very slow. It should only take 3:30 to 4:00 but is generally over 5.

There is no practice range.

Outstanding round

Cannot say enough about the condition of the Battlefield Course at Legends Niagara. Easily the best conditions of any course we have played this year - including Glen Abbey, Glencairn, Otter Creek etc.

Played Sat Aug 31 and completed the round in 3 hrs 50.
