Ruggles Ferry Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2017Green Ruggles
I haven't played RFGC since early this spring when there was no grass, but they have plenty of green grass now and some pretty thick rough. Only one complaint for the course, the practice putting green was far more faster than the actual playing greens. It was a shock how slow the greens were because they are normally pretty fast. The other complaint is they didn't have any chicken salad sandwiches and for us playing twilight, eating at the golf course will be our dinner and when you've been looking forward to something and then they don't have it is kind of a bummer. All in all though, staff was great, course was good, hopefully they speed the greens up a bit, I give 4 outta 5 stars!

As we start playing hole number 1 there is a sign that says don't be a tool use one. Apparently nobody in Oak Ridge can read as we fixed at least 10 pitch marks a piece per each hole. Also the whoever set the tee markers that day must like to play off the dirt. I am a 3 handicap but my companions are not so we played from the green tees this makes the course measure 6100 yards. There was at least three to four tee boxes that need to be closed for several weeks. Move the box up or back but don't make us hit off dirt. Then the pin placements. Oh my goodness the guy who set those has no clue. And finally $32 is way to much for this course right now. It normally is worth that but in the shape it's in it is worth $18. That's right $1 per hole.
