Country Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2015Slow Wet
Five and a half hours to play, even if it's cart path only it should not take 5 1/2 hrs to play. Course needs work!!!! Course cannot handle rain, and it is not maintained. Stay away.

To be fair, they did have a lot of rain, but it had not rained in three days when we played. I would say 50% of the fairways were unplayable. Around several greens it was just dirt, paid $37, would not pay $10. I would just like courses to be honest with you when the course is in bad condition. This course may look entirely different in the summer, but it was bad when we played. Even if the fairways were grass and not dirt, I would not play there due to the fact there isn't any landing areas on some holes. The course could really be nice with some modifications, but for me, I will not play there again!
Hermitage Golf Course - The President's Reserve
Played On 04/26/2014Great Course
Annual Nashville trip with 14 other golfers, we usually play either the General or the Reserve, both really good, but I prefer the Reserve. Saw the sheep for the first time roaming the course, you don't see that everyday.
When you play this course you are kind of out there all by yourself. This course is separate from the rest of the facility since it was built after, so it is secluded.
As usual, the course was in great shape. It is hard to think there are any better courses in Nashville, public or private, when it comes to the conditions. The Reserve has wide fairways (although not wide enough for me yesterday), is well bunkered, and the greens were firm, but held and putted true.
The only negative is the price, $80 on the weekend Fri-Sun, $10 less during the week. I guess to have facilities like that you have to charge more, but a senior rate would be nice. If you get a chance try it, you will like it.

Played On 04/24/2014Great Course!
Played here for the 9th year in a row. This is a Great course, just 45 minutes from Nashville. The fairways were still a little dormant, but were in great shape. The greens were a little hard and fast, nothing was holding, but they putted true. It is such a unique layout, any new person in our group just loves it. Plus the rate is fair.
If you are in the Nashville area, or heading to Memphis from the north, stop and give this course a try, you won't be sorry/.
