Played On 08/18/2016Nice Course, Nice People
Pleasant staff. I got paired up with couple of members, and they couldn't have been nicer.
Apparently, the back nine gets closed periodically because of the Military base operations, so you might want to call ahead to see if this is an issue on a given day.
Good layout with lots of mature trees. No "dumb" holes on the course. If you like airplanes, it's fun to watch the aircraft coming and going during the round.
Note: don't trust GPS going there, as the maps are a bit out of date. You have to enter the base gate from RCAF Rd to get to the course. This feels wrong, but it is right.

Played On 06/01/2016Nice Par 3 Layout
Fun course for a par 3. It is not a pitch and putt. Tee shots are more like approach shots on a long par 4. Good place to practice your irons.

Played On 05/30/2016Very Nice Course, Not a Great Experience
Nice layout, and the course was in excellent condition.
The overall experience wasn't the best. We checked in at 6:55 AM for a 7:18 AM tee off time. Had to wait about 10 minutes for carts to be shuttled up to the pro shop from the shed. Got to the first tee and teed off right away. Playing as a foursome, it was 7:18 AM when we headed away from the first tee.
We finished the front nine in 2:10 (we had been making better time than that, but all 4 of us screwed up the ninth hole in different ways). There was a threesome playing behind us, and they waited to hit shots maybe twice on the front nine (once was on the par 3 8th hole.)
Stopped at the snack shack to grab some drinks and food . The stop at the turn was 5 to 6 minutes tops.
After we teed off on #10, a single got between us and the threesome. After we finished #10, a marshal, with arguably not the best people skills, drove up to us and said "You guys are incredibly slow". We questioned that a little, and then he asked us what time we started (he had no idea).
We told him we teed off at 7:18, and asked him what time it was at that moment (none of us were wearing watches). He told us it was 9:40, which was 2:22 after our start time. Not the fastest 10 holes ever, but certainly not the slowest either. He grumbled that we were way too slow, and that there were open holes ahead of us. There were indeed open holes ahead of us, as we had never seen the group ahead of us at all, even on the first tee.
When we finished #11, the single was now nipping at our heels. We wanted to let the single play through, and went to #12 to hit our tee shots, then wait for him. The single stayed parked by 11 green, and after trying a couple times to wave him up (he was looking at his phone or something) we said "forget it" and went to hit our second shots on #12. The single waited for us to finish putting on #12 before teeing off, which was odd since #12 is a 330+/- yard par 4, and he didn't seem to be a big hitter.
After we all hit our tee shots on #13, another marshal marched up and told us that there is a single behind us, and that we need to let him play through since we were playing very slowly. We told him that we had tried to wave him up the previous hole. He started in again about there being open holes ahead of us, etc. We waited by the green on #13 to let the single play through.
We played #14, a par 4, and we were finishing putting as the threesome behind us--who started all this nonsense--was walking to the 14th tee box. Even after letting the single play through, we had 400 yards behind us.
As an aside, if a marshal is so worried about pace of play, why would he allow a single to play in front of a threesome? Why not pair them together to make another foursome.
On #17, one of the golf carts abruptly stopped working in the middle of the fairway. The carts are equipped with hitches for towing each other, so after a few minutes or fiddling around, we figured out to tow the dead cart behind the other working cart.
We finished 17 and 18 towing the dead cart. We were finished #18 and driving from #18 green to the parking lot at 11:35 AM. Our "incredibly, slow" round took 4:17, including the 3 to 5 minutes we lost messing around with the dead cart. Not the fastest round ever, but not the slowest ever given that 2 of the 4 of us had never played the course before. .
After unloading the carts, I drove my cart back to return it, still towing the dead cart. I figured I'd be nice and give the pro shop a heads up that the one cart was dead so they didn't try to send it back out. When I told the kid at the desk, he just said "Oh". Not "Oh, I'm sorry about the inconvenience" or anything like that, just "Oh". He almost seemed irritated that I bothered to tell him. This seemed like a fitting end to the round.
Nice course: Waaaay too much drama for an activity that is supposed to be enjoyable.

Nice lay out. Well manicured. Green are in good shape. Marshals and starter were pleasant.
Most, if no all of the holes are lined by pine trees, which gives the layout a pleasing appearance.
Friendly staff.

Played On 04/16/2016Good Course for the Money
Course was in pretty good shape for the first round of the year. The greens were soft, as you'd expect in the spring, but the grass on the greens was in incredibly good shape for April.
The starting hole is a bit strange, but not too bad.
Pretty scenery.

I played 36 holes with my son. Had a good time. The rough was fairly burned out, but the fairways and greens were in decent shape. I think the condition of the rough was due to the time of year. Fun course. Pretty good value. I'd go back.

Had a great time. Having a forecaddie added a lot to the experience.
