Pocono Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/20/2020Can’t beat the price
This is the best course in the area for the money. Cart and 18 holes. Today I had a 8:15am Tee time. I think I payed $25. I skipped the first hole (I was alone and there were 2 groups of 4 in front of me) and finished the next 17 in 2 hours. Didn’t see another soul. Not going to say it’s the most scenic but it’s a pretty course. LOTS of woods around so you will lose balls if you are a beginner like me. Bring more than a dozen.
Oak Golf Course at Wedgewood Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2020Not very pandemic friendly
I have played at two different courses in PA since the courses were reopened. This was my third course. When I told the guy I had a friend coming from New Jersey to meet me and we needed separate carts because we are, you know, in the middle of a pandemic, they guy at the pro shop says “We’re not doing that”. Mind you, when I arrived I saw numerous people, I’m talking 10-12 people playing in groups all with their own carts. They overbooked (irresponsibility I want to add because social distancing was very difficult) and were running out of carts so they didn’t want to give my friend and I our own carts.
Course was ok. Straight, easy holes for the most part but the greens are deceptively difficult. Pretty course but if you want a really beautiful course nearby, try Morris Hills Golf course in Easton PA.

This course is the best deal in the N.Y., NJ, Eastern PA area. Using the GolfNow app I usually pay between $16-$23 for a full 18 holes with cart included. Greens are in pretty good shape but a little more leaf blowing would hurt (lost a couple balls that were easily findable if it weren’t for all the leaves. T boxes fairly well maintained and the area is peaceful. The restaurant The Warehouse , is a decent enough restaurant and a good place to get a drink after a round. This is my home course and one of my favorite in the area.

Super affordable and the restaurant next to the golf shop has decent food and is a good place to have a drink after a round. If you are a beginner like me, you will lose a lot of balls in this course. For this reason I bought cheap balls for my drives and switch them out with good balls for the short play. Apologies to the residents of this community to the left the hole 11 tee for the hellfire of cheap golf balls that rained down on your siding today.

The only negative thing really is that I’m a beginner and this course is surrounded by woods; so you will lose a lot of balls. Otherwise I usually play at odd times and only pay $23-$27 for 18 holes including cart and clubs if you need them. Greens are pretty well maintained overall and the staff is very friendly.
